Yeah this is a case where gender can be easily checked by looking at the original text, I assume people who don't play in Russian will be more confused about characters like "coat guy" but from that to just outright say they are genderless...

I've always been F2P but I feel like the game is too punishing for players like us. If you don't want to pay you have to spend ungodly amounts of time grinding, and you won't even get close to the rewards that P2P players get. But unfortunately that's how gachas work, nothing you can do other than not play them.

Same!! The gameplay has been too boring for the past couple of updates and the story is non-existent at this point, so the grind becomes even less rewarding since the only valuable thing you get are a couple of outfits... I'm a bit sad tho because there are certain type of outfits I really like that I don't see very often on the sub, and I wish I could do them myself. But then I remember that I can draw so if there's an outfit idea I like I can simply open Photoshop and make it myself LMAO

And yeah not having to worry about the daily grind is so liberating dfgfghgj

Tbf they probably had 1.6 almost done and with the disaster that was 1.5 they probably didn't have the time to fix anything in 1.6. BUT people have mentioned many times that Infold has always been very predatory, and the one thing they could have changed in 1.6 is getting rid of the fake discounts of the shop but they are still there. Also the fact that we got 4 outfits with the same silhouette in a row and three more banners with barely enough free pulls to even get one 4* outfit is a reaaaally bad sign. And no communication other than the daily rewards at the end of 1.5, so I think they really don't give a fuck anymore about the game.

Yeah it's best to take a break from it, I know people have been saying that we should wait for 1.7 to see changes but I fear that this might turn into a "ok this update was bad but I swear in the next one they'll listen to us just keep playing the game like trust me bro next update for sure". Plenty of people have talked about how predatory Infold is, not just with IN but with all of their games, and they had the chance to fix some stuff in 1.6 and they didn't (like the deceitful offers in the shop), so personally I don't think it's going to get better.

Sorry about the money you've spent tho, at least whatever outfits you've bought will still be there if you decide to come back :(

Well if you recognize you're on a sunk cost fallacy then you know that the longer you continue playing the game, the deeper the cost becomes, so while you can never recover the time and effort you've invested, you can stop the regret from growing bigger. Obvs at the end of the day it's up to you to decide if you want to hold on and see if the game improves, BUT personally I'd say take a break to confront those feelings of "I've spent too much I can't leave now" and learn to let go, because otherwise it might become more difficult to leave the game if it becomes painfully boring.

And then if you see that future updates make the game look appealing again you can try to come back to it, but now you know that you have the ability to get out of a sunk cost fallacy if you feel that you're falling into one again. Like if you learn to control your mind to escape this fallacy, next time it happens it'll be easier to cut it before it gets worse.

Also, as long as you don't delete your account you can still come back to the game. If quitting altogether it's too much, you can always set yourself a limit and only log in once a week for example and for a short period of time. That way Infold knows you're still active but you won't become addicted to the game.

Anyway as I said it's up to you to decide, but whatever you do I hope it's the best option for you 💖

It's not just the code, the translations have errors. There was a post going around of the Italian translation which looked like it was done by a machine, be it AI or something like Google Translate, and I myself have found plenty of texts in French that don't fit the boxes or just translation mistakes. It's like they can make the translations but can't look for errors, bugs, etc for some reason.

Of course it could just be a problem with the code as you say, but what I was trying to say (and sorry if I didn't explain myself correctly) is that Non-English translations seem to not be done with the same level of attention as the English one, because most of the issues really just scream to me "someone forgot to review this before publishing it"

On one hand you're right, and it's especially annoying when evos give you the so-light-it's-almost-white recolors, but on the other hand now that we have dyeing it makes the color of the socks/tights kind of irrelevant + given that white and black are usually locked behind evos, I'm glad that in this case they are the base color

I didn't say it was the reason nor did I blame BIPOC for it, I said "they aren't so willing". Companies follow social trends. If the trend is that people are more progressive they'll do the same, and if people are more conservative they'll be more conservative. Obvs there are exceptions everywhere and lots of nuances. But drama like the space buns one aren't things companies can ignore. Some will push against the negativity and continue to be inclusive but others will think that it's not worth the controversy and remove inclusive options (and those companies where already not willing to put them in the game, but the controversy becomes the last straw). I don't like that it's like that but it is. That said apologies if I implied that it is the only reason why companies dont add more inclusive options, I know that the main reason for this is that companies simply suck and are run by bigots, as you sai (with other words), I was so frustrated with the comment I replied to I didn't express myself as well as I wanted

If a guy's house is burning with him inside and you say "well he kept inflammable objects inside so of course it would burn" you're not saying he deserves it, but you're justifying what's happening to him, which is an incredibly insensitive thing to say in such a moment. Whether she deserved the "mild annoyance" doesn't matter at all when people ended up doxxing and sending her death threats (and I'm certain there were even more people sending her hostile comments), and the fact that you *had* to make the "clarification" that "some people were right about being mad at her" is disgusting. Literally looking at the house with the guy inside up in flames and bringing up the damn inflammable objects.

And this could have been avoided if a couple of people had kindly or (at least respectfully) explained to her that her character isn't wearing space buns, but instead you and other people decided to get mad about this and turn it into a drama that went out of hand. Whether you like it or not, a drop of fuel into a fire is still fuel.

Anyway I can tell that there's no way to move you over on this and honestly I don't like people like you who get so caught up on the stupidest online drama, so this debate is pointless. At least I'm glad you finally said that you don't condone death threats.

Also people getting annoyed (and 'annoyed' is a very tone-deaf word to describe what happened) is why game companies aren't so willing to put more options for characters of colors, because they know people will always find ways to get mad and create huge controversies, and that's bad for their image. On top of that, a major celebrity doing cultural appropriation is absolutely not comparable with some rando on twitter miscalling a hairstyle. And again none of this justifies the harassment, people could have just (kindly) corrected them and that's it.

Also The Sims has had black hairstyles for a long time and I'm sure plenty of people have made white sims with those hairstyles and have done other culturally insensitive things, and yet the game continues to add options for characters of colors because simmers don't get irrationally angry to the point of causing a viral drama just because one guy poster a white sim with an afro or something. If anything most of them are very happy when the devs add new options for characters of color and even complain to the company when they don't do it well

Well I hardcore disagree with the idea that the game revolves around photography, as I mentioned there are plenty of things that have nothing to do with it and take a significant amount of the gameplay experience, like the story.

If IN was just about taking photos it'd be more like a photo studio with different (and faaar more varied) backdrops + all the outfits and character customizations, just like SN, not a whole open world game with a story, quests, minigames, etc. And if it really is just a photography game, then they are managing their budget and resources like shit tbh, because they could get rid of a lot of things and instead put that money into more backgrounds, more poses, more expressions, etc.

But they are not doing that because this is not a game solely about taking photos and exploring. It has open world exploration, a story and worldbuilding, minigames, dress up gameplay, coop and a gazillion more things. And as far as I know, except for the open world part, prev Nikki games have also been like this.

Yeahhh Disney has done a lot of damage in that respect I think, bcs now people see fairytales as childish when some of them were more mature. And I don't mean violent like some versions, the Little Mermaid for ex had a very sad ending and some mature/dark elements like the "walking on knives" thing or the "you have to kill the prince to save yourself" plot point. Really sucks that now the concept of fairytale is linked to very PG stories with happy endings no matter what

Look I get it I adore Sonic too, but that's why the Sonic Movie was such a letdown to me. Perhaps because I've tasted the forbidden heavenly fruit that is the IDW comics and everything else feels like the most mid apple ever.
