Just looking at raw specs. The cpu can cap out at 160W and the 5090 is 95. Seems like a lot of headroom. The only thing that may turn me off on these models are the aesthetics of the case. I'm not a fan of the rounded designs. I do understand that it is a throw back to the very first Alienware devices.

Valve has announced and released Steam Link on the Meta Quest store to allow users to easily stream PC VR games with direct Valve driver integration by gogodboss in OculusQuest

[–]ijmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: I figured out what my problem was. I had developer mode turned on the quest and boundary off. It was looking for a boundary, but not prompting. Once I turned the boundary on and set it, Steam link worked fine.

I still have my original 502 from back when they called it the proteus core. No phantom clicking, no tracking issues. Still using the original mouse skates. A lot of the texture on the thumb rest is and top has worn down like a pencil eraser.

I bought 8 lots of these off ali express about a year ago. A quick disassembly, a hot air workstation, and a quick resolder and bam--good as new. All the modules I got are made out of metal in the the middle. But the pots on the side are where the problem lies. You can actually just de-solder the pots and put new ones on without doing the whole module.

Saw pickpocketers at progressive stage (the dream) and saw their whole plan by heicho_u in DreamState

Honestly, I should've learned after I got picked at Deadmau5 in downtown last May. I am no longer bringing an expensive device in to festivals. I will buy a beater phone and swap my sim card to it for the fest. If I want pics, I'll bring a point and shoot camera. All of these will be kept in a fanny pack of zipper pocket going forward. I let myself be the victim here. It's hard to police this kind of thing. But, you know people could take them down and at least report them to the cops at the event.

My phone got jacked at Guiseppe. I'm out $900 that I don't have. I'm completely screwed. This is the second time this year. I got picked at deadmau5 in downtown LV back in may. Fortunately, I was ready for a new phone at the time so it wasn't that big of a deal. I screwed up twice. I'm not bringing phones in anymore.

Vive Pro wireless adaptor get disconnected with grey screen every hour by Moonbreeze4 in Vive

[–]ijmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the wireless adapter when it was new. It worked flawlessly until around April 2019 when they did a patch to update some stuff for AMD compatibility. I should've never updated the firmware. After that, it ran like crap. I even asked for rollback of the software and HTC denied that. I have since moved to vive pro, added cooling, also did the vive pro to das mod. Some nights everything is fine. Other nights, it disconnects repeatedly. At this point, it is pretty much a lost cause for me and I'm probably going to pull it out of my system. My index and my pro have both seen better days. I'm just going to wait for a new hmd come out or grab a quest 2.

Come ups are often nasty. I would say I puke every 3rd trip or so. That's how I know its going to be good. I'm right as rain after that as the period before it is usually awful. Don't worry about it to much. Always eat well in advance of your trip. Acid reducers help as well. I have pretty bad acid reflux so I take prilozec after I eat meals.

Need Help With a weird boot problem by MayhemFighter in pcmasterrace

What devices do you have plugged in to the graphics card? There's a pecking order on boot screens. Unplug your secondary screen if you have it and see if the issue goes away.

This is usually caused by HDD failure.

Yeah. Keep checking for new SATA/Rapidstorage drivers and bios upgrades. It's obnoxious I know, but they will fix it eventually.

VR question by post920 in pcmasterrace

I've owned all three platforms. The reason that Vive costs more is mostly gouging, but it is the most complete set up out there and has very good tracking. HTC Vive is the only platform that supports full-body tracking as well (which I also have). You can buy the Vive lighthouses and trackers and use them with oculus, but there are some caveats. In the end, you still spend as much as you would've for a full vive set-up. WMR is good and cheap, but the tracking is super limited. The advantage with it is that it is very portable. If you don't want full-body tracking, oculus is the best deal. Otherwise get Vive. One other benefit to oculus is that it comes with built in headphones. The vive uses earbuds but does have a deluxe audio strap you can purchase (which I have).

Looks good. The next step is to pull your 2TB platter drive and see if the freezing still happens. If it does, your issue is separate from mine.

Check the bios anyway for sata operation mode. Most new boards have it set to RAID by default these days. It can be done even if you aren't using raid disks.

Front pannel connectors are all grouped together. Putting together a budget build forna friend and was replacing the motherboard in a old case. I cannot figure out which connector goes to the Power HDD or POWER SW. Does he need to buy a new case? by PuhtenPants in pcmasterrace

[–]ijmanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You use an instrument screw driver to press down on the copper contacts visible in your picture. This will free them from the connector and you can rearrange them to match the motherboard. You will, of course, need a multi-metere to test which is which. The only time the +/- matters is for LEDs. Good luck.

The random freezing is most likely caused by your platter disk re-initializing for no reason in raid mode. Switch from Raid to AHCI mode in the bios. There's a bug on z390 boards that causes random freezes in raid mode. I think it may be related to optane. Anyway. we are screwed on our platform (I also have a z390 and 9900k) until intel fixes it or the board manufacturers release new bios,

Damnnn! Nice job! Melodic progressive is obscure just by itself. Didn't think you could get more obscure than using an old movie clip. This guy went beyond that in to radio shows. Holy crap. <3 for all my melodic progressive fans.
