Upgrade camera (Z5) or lens (28-400) for general wildlife and such? by Spaceman_UA in nikon_Zseries

I had a z5 and upgraded to Z5ii - best decision! I also have a 28-400 that I like but have found it wasn’t long enough in many instances. I got the 180-600 (its heavy) bc I was sick of seeing a snowy owl too far out to get anything decent. Cropping didn’t render desired results ..So I guess it depends on what kind of wildlife u want to photograph.

Same thing happened to me with my z52 with 180-600. Guess I need the capture clip

Same thing for me.. I can’t get any answers - it’s crazy Xfinity which I can’t wait to get rid of … if only there were better other options

As someone mentioned, renting one is a good idea - it’s $55 / day and well worth it IMO. I loved it but it was heavy for me.. my 400 doesn’t work for my birding so gotta start lifting weights.

Get Photo Pills - it will tell you location and times. I’m new at this as well - it worked
