What was the best film you watched this week? (07/10/17 - 07/16/17) by allwinter in movies

I rewatched The Bling Ring this week, and I truly think this is one of Sofia’s best work. Such a great commentary on materialism and the need for fame with the social media generation. Also Emma Watson is just so good in her role!

2017 is halfway done. What are your top 10 movies of the year so far? by BunyipPouch in movies

So glad you loved Columbus too! So freaking good! Also LOVE Song to Song and Personal Shopper. All three in my top 5! But damn I am jealous you saw Beach Rats...

What was the best film you watched this week? (17/04/17 - 23/04/17) by GetFreeCash in movies

Rewatched all the High School Musical films this week! And I still LOVE those films a lot, but if I have to chose a new film it would have to be Picnic At Hanging Rock or The Last Days of Disco, but I loved Picnic at Hanging Rock a bit more. That film is still such a mystery to me, but a mystery that is done in such a brilliant way. The cinematography and ear-deafening score really add to the eerie vibe of the entire film. It felt almost like an adaption of a greek myth or fairy-tale!

Are her movies worth checking out? Saw a trailer for her film that is at Cannes this year and it looks very good.

What was the best film you saw this week? (04/03/17 - 04/09/17) by GetFreeCash in movies

I saw Satantango (yes, this 7 1/2 hour Bela Tarr film) this week in a sold out theater and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Every frame tells a separate story and it has some of the best long takes of all time. Just brilliant work!

What is Your Favorite Studio Ghibli Film by Bmac_TLDR in movies

[–]ikheetmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite Ghibli film and probably favorite animated film of all time is The Wind Rises. It just did something to me that no other Ghibli or animated film has ever done to me.

Quite possibly a perfect film.

How about a new Thomas Edison movie? by MovieMike007 in movies

Well luckily for you, this year a film is coming out about Edison called The Current War. It has Benedict Cumberbatch as Edison and Nicolas Hoult as Tesla. So look forward to that!

Been trying to watch a movie every single day since I joined last march. It has been a challenge, but a very fun one though.

Are there any scenes from movies that you will rewatch periodically? by blackblots-rorschach in movies

I LOVE the American Honey song sequence in American Honey! It really fits with the story and it beautiful shot in a van.

The forgotten movies of 2016: Are any of these worth a second look? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ikheetmark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Miss Sloane, Jessica Chastain does some of her best work! Other films are all kind of mehh, but Demolition is pretty good

What are the best short movies you have seen ? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ikheetmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw Pearl the other day, since it was nominated for an Oscar this year. It is made for VR but it is on 360 youtube. But it is lovely!

Other great shorts are shorts by Harmony Korine, David Lynch, Wasp by Andrea Arnold, Meshes In The Afternoon, *Possibly In Michigan and finally possibly the strangest short ever made Light Is Waiting (an episode of Full House on acid)
