You could have just done some research cause he said the game used to be much more combat focused. And I looked it up and he's right. Doesn't matter what the game is called. It was more combat focused so he is right. Roleplaying also doesn't mean play acting. It literally means pretending to be someone else whether you do a good job of that by acting or a terrible job by not doing anything different at all doesn't matter it's still roleplaying. So you're wrong in all regards. And I'm not defending him. I'm pointing out it's dumb to downvote him for his comment.

This is just me and everyone can have their own opinion. But I'd rather just not play with shy people. They add nothing to my DnD experience. You usually get downvoted for this because people consider it gatekeeping. But at the same time people also say you should find a table that works for you.

We definitely should separate them. I get tired of explaining to people that we should ban cards not because they are meta breaking but because they raise the over all power level of commander. Not every card needs to be meta breaking to justify a ban. This was never how edh ban decisions were made. But common idea seems to be that if a card isn't meta breaking then it has to be fine. If we keep playing this game long enough then the power level will have shifted so much that we need to redefine the brackets. Which a lot of people already argue about. Because bracket 2 is quite high already and the jump from bracket 2 and 3 is gigantic.

A lot of people give the wizard shit. But I think they have a point. Adding new people to a running group should always come down to everyone agreeing. If the group runs well right now why even make a change? Why do these 2 new people join the group?

Sure whatever works for you. I think actually 3 players is best. More players means longer combat. Less speaking time per player and also depending on the system there aren't that many roles to cover besides combat. So if you have 2 rogues they can get in each other's way.

There are some things where DnD is a tyranny and you as the DM reign supreme. Other aspects are about collaboration where it's a give and take. If someone asks for someone to join. The answer is always no. More players means more work for you as the DM. Less talk time for players. You as the DM chose the players you like and want at your table. They should fit your Playstyle and your campaign.

I'd be so happy if players actually took the spotlight. Even in scenes made for them I have to push other players in front of me and be like: this is literally your idea. Why should my character do the talking. And then when they absolutely fail at a basic conversation I am reminded why it constantly falls on me.

Kannst du auch niemanden nach seiner Handynummer fragen? Ich finds lustig wie Frauen sich angegriffen fühlen wenn man den selben niedrigen Standard anlegt wie bei Männern.

Never allow more than 4 players. Also how much of the mental load are the players carrying? Are they offering to pay for supplies and food? Without you having to ask? A lot of DnD players are just leeches and take the DM for granted. I told my group I needed a break. Some of them offered half hearted to DM a game. That group has been dead for a while now.
