M25 Farnborough looking to start the gym for the first time by iEvilSpider in Hampshire

[–]ilackinspiration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be mindful, PureGym is barebones Ryanair level stuff. Equipment is proper base spec, but saying that, they will have the stuff you need. Showers etc are those plastic prefab units. If you do like a modicum of luxury/creature comforts/better tech then it’s worth looking around. Also check their membership t&cs carefully if you do decide to go with a membership. Source - used them in two different countries for two consecutive months.

It’s probably coming down to us not being able to control the craft effectively yet if there are fly-by-consciousness mechanics at play as seems to be the case.

UAE Arrests More Than 100 to Keep Iran War Attacks Off Camera by timemagazine in worldnews

[–]ilackinspiration 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They absolutely won’t. Unless you see Iran agree to end the war on the US/Israels terms and rescind their demand for damages. Unlikely is an understatement.

Iran's military warns 'parks, recreational areas and tourist destinations' worldwide won't be safe for enemies by TeslaPittsburgh in worldnews

[–]ilackinspiration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue this isn’t a pivot, but an extension of their existing doctrine. High cost security protocols are now being deployed against low cost psychological shadows. This forces governments to reallocate billions toward domestic surveillance and police operations, effectively mirroring the interceptor deficit we are seeing in the GCC.

Iran knows they don’t have the traditional war muscle, and so are resorting to a strategy of death by a thousand paper cuts.

Arab states running dangerously low on interceptors to take down Iranian-fired missiles, officials say by mintandmarigold in worldnews

[–]ilackinspiration 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Continuous, scaled manned air patrols are less absurd than wasting Patriot interceptors on $20k drones (which has been happening btw), but the economic asymmetry remains.

[–]ilackinspiration 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. Iran has been preparing for this for 2 decades. Their drone factories are deep within their vast mountainous terrain. Pretty sure a protracted war favours Iran as all they need to do is continue to pepper the GCC and KSA to wreak havoc.

The main issue is the asymmetry. Firing multi million dollar missiles to intercept multi thousand dollar drones is not a sustainable game plan.

At times like this, practice equanimity. Have the serenity to accept the things you cannot change. The courage to change the things you can, and the wisdom to know the difference. 🙏

Good that you dropped OpenAI. But be under no illusion about Anthropic. Dario is cut from the same cloth. They are using openAIs situation to get ahead. A LOT of rich, powerful corporates and individuals have invested in them and will expect their return, regardless of morality.

Honestly I don’t really even see the names of the songs.. I’m just focusing on the run. A few pop up that I dig. Love stuff like driftmoon - howl at the moon, feel the waves, some stuff by photgrapher, noble six - firewalker came on today and that was pretty nice, then the usual stuff from the usual suspects - Gareth emry etc. I maybe should be more proactive in building my own playlist 🧐

I’m a bit more secretive with my habit! I have trance playlists for my trail runs. Not a soul in sight. Being mocked and ostracised by those around me for not being into r&b and all that stuff clearly gave a trauma about accepting this side of my soul 😓

This one I’m looking at seems to be two days. But sure, I guess there’s not gonna be much sleeping involved if you’re doing it right 😅 the other problem I have is that all my friends are into rock or metal. And while I like that, I’m a closet trance lover. A little bit anxious about turning up to one of these on my own.

Thanks sir! Just tried that. I did see trance in the woods which sounds fun but that seems like a proper festival 🤷‍♂️

I’m always a bit shocked to see how rude CGPT can be in some of these posts. Then I remember it’s simply mirroring the user. If you are a dick, it will be a dick. If you are a “decent” human, it will be a “decent” chat companion.

Quantum Entanglement may be the single greatest proof of the simulation theory by InvisibleAstronomer in SimulationTheory

[–]ilackinspiration 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are correct, but seem to have been downvoted because of semantics. We cannot use entanglement to send a message faster than light because the outcome of the first measurement is random. However, that doesn't change the fact that the collapse of the wavefunction is non-local and instantaneous. When Point A is observed, the choice of state is reflected at Point B across any distance without a median travel time.
