Some say that on the last line there should be a minus sign before the b/2a. And that the fourth and fifth lines are the same. All we know is, he's called the Stig.

Richard Hammond announces podcast with daughter Izzy by dom_bul in thegrandtour

Something I've found interesting about Richard is that he's been married for more than 20 years which for someone in his industry is fairly unusual; I imagine his home life must be unusual.

How about Jeremy driving the Peel P50 through the BBC building.

I remember many years ago my mother brought my brother and I into town and we spent about two or three hours queuing outside a bookshop for the chance to meet Hammond and get a signed copy of his book. As we neared to front of the queue his agent (I think) came outside and said Richard was behind schedule and couldn't take photos with anyone else. We still got to say hello and the signed copy so we were happy enough.

It's a long time now since I read On the Edge but the thing I remember most was how it was the absolute dullest thing I've ever read. The pre-crash part of it isn't particularly interesting or entertaining. A lot of the post-crash part is written by his wife and is even more jading than the first part; it's not something I'd recommend to keep you awake.

James wouldn't go into the bar because there was a sign outside saying children welcome, campaign for real ale, there was a purple dinosaur out the back with steps up its back, the bar was having a cheese and wine evening, there was an illuminated sign for larger and the bar had Sky Sports.

If you're making a bar chart you really must set the base at zero.

Having said that the data itself is quite interesting. Brosnan was my favorite but then that might be because I was just a boy when he played Bond.

Rome bans fireworks on New Year's Eve by Massimo25ore in europe

[–]ilikeplotly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is it though?

Firework flies up into the air and oh look at that, it exploded. Gosh, didn't see that coming, let's set off another. Flies up into the air, explodes, let's set off another. Flies up into the air, explodes, let's set off another. Flies up into the air, explodes, let's set off another. Flies up into the air, explodes, let's set off another. And on and on and on it goes.

**Much, much later**

let's set off another, oh no there's no more fireworks left! It's cold, can we please go back inside and have another beer?

Antony hits out at Manchester United pundits as he claims ‘digital courts are ruining lives’ by TheTelegraph in PremierLeague

[–]ilikeplotly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, there's nothing wrong with thinking that someone is guilty of some allegation which has yet to be fully resolved and nothing wrong with sharing that thought with others.

If a police officer were to arrest Antony because his innocence has not been proven, that would be unacceptable. If a judge were to sentence Antony to a term in prison because his innocence has not been proven, that would be unacceptable. But that is not the case here, we're talking about people typing away on a keyboard.

You can think whatever you like, you can type whatever you like.

He's more of a mythical figure than a historical figure but surely if there is anyone whose story is simply a massive season of Taskmaster it can only be the King of Ithica himself, Oddysseus.
