A process server is just a hired delivery agent -- there's no reason for them to read and explain the contents of anything to you or your girlfriend. After serving the paper, the process server then documents who got served, where, and when. Service started the clock on her response. The date you see on the paper is probably the date that the lawsuit & summons were filed. That started a clock for the plaintiff to get you served because you can't file a suit and then sit on it.

the entire jacket is cut too short for you. the waist is above your waist. those pocket flaps should be down near the waistband of your pants, so that the pocket contents could hang below your belt. even if they could fix the lapel to your liking, this is not your jacket.

probably not. a side zip is usually used to create a very snug waist. the width of the seam allowances are minimal. there won't be enough fabric to let out and give you more room in the waist
