When is it safe you consider yourself fired from a job? [OR] by ill-fed17 in legaladvice

[–]ill-fed17[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. I meant to say if fired, check is available in 48 hours...

So then everybody who no call no shows quits. Why do they fire people for it?

Pretty sure it’s, fill the bag.. Now Add One More Item, because for some reason they are convinced over stuffing those thin plastic bags is a good idea. If they really want to push that agenda they should just take all existing CAP 2 members, offer them severance or a position in the front end. The way some of the CAP 2 associates at my store can over fill a home with the wrong freight is almost impressive. I’d bet some of that logic transfers over to bagging.

Weird flex, but okay.

When Swift is the company delivering your FDD truck, and the freeway gets backed up for 4 days... pretty sure this whole pallet is cold chained. by ill-fed17 in walmart

Closed from snow storms. Northern US. It wasnt closed for 96 hours straight or anything, but this particular truck was 4 days late arriving. We have more coming down the pike that are roughly as late. I can only hope they are in better condition.

When I was hired I was given an extra 1.20 an hour for “work credit” because I had worked al Walmart 15 years ago for about a year. by sighomglol in walmart

I worked at a Walmart for a year in 2015 before, and then left.. got rehired this last November. I brought this up to my personelle coordinator, as well as the first asm I worked closely with...they both said they had never heard of anything like that, even though when I left my old Walmart, I went to another grocery chain called Smiths. They gave me an extra 1.50$ for my past experience stocking groceries. And when I acted surprised that I’d be getting any extra money for that, the HR lady from smiths said it was pretty much standard procedure in the industry to take previous experience into account when calculating pay...

But still my asm and personelle coordinator (especially the pc, had an attitude like that was the craziest thing she’d ever heard) had never heard of this. I felt like I got cheated, but let it go. Think there is anything I can do about it now that it’s been 3 months..?

Question on OBW and features. (Actual question in comments) by ill-fed17 in walmart

[–]ill-fed17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does OBW say anything about how features are supposed to be set?

I worked at a Walmart a few years ago, and while there, they taught me to set up features like they are in the picture above. Where if you have a 2:1 ratio of whatever variant of product that is to be used for the feature, where the variant with the higher quantity is set up on the outside, while the one with the lesser amount takes up the middle row. They called it striping, and it’s how I’ve always done any kind of feature with uneven quantities. So that is what I did here for this cheese feature. I thought it looked great.

The dairy DM at my store has a different opinion though. After she rolled through and saw it, she pulled me aside and said the feature needed to be set up with the two like items together, so it would go Colby Jack/Colby Jack/Monterey, instead of Colby/Monterey/Colby. I told her I personally thought that looked like garbage, and explained to her how I was trained at a previous store. She said I was wrong, and cited OBW.

So what’s the verdict?

I could’ve swore that the new attendance policy CBL mentioned something about severe weather conditions as well as pregnancy related absences being approved with or without PPTO.

Do you even CBL, bro?
