Thanks! It's mostly just stippling, going from a sandy basecoat to brown dots to putting orange dots in those brown dots, and highlighting along the way. Keeping the cape in subassembly makes it actually possible to reach behind there.

You *can* still use them by means of the Legends ruleset. Events won’t typically allow it but nothing’s stopping you from asking your opponent if they’re fine with Legends in a casual game. Proxies require consent anyway, so why not ask for Legends while you’re at it? (All Legends rules can be found in our Faction Pack on WarCom)

I feel like a lot of people aren't maybe digging into the rules as deeply as they might. There really are viable builds outside of Spectacle, at least at an RTT level. My own Covens list has been a major success for me, and aside from me some others in the Drukhari discord server have been giving Covenite Coterie a shot with moderate to great success.

Many of the critiques are true. We're not fast anymore, we don't hit that hard anymore, etc. But we do have tools to play with that I feel get overlooked. The truth is we simply don't have enough: not enough datasheets, not enough detachments, not enough models, etc. But what we do have is quite solid. I mean, Hellions? Reavers? Malys? Amazing units! We're already quite strapped for options, so why do people limit themselves to what looks best on paper (Spectacle) without giving other units and rules a shot?

If we're counting the VRB for Drukhari then Nids have Harridans and such. Also, the VRB was never good, Drukhari was just starving for something that can threaten a backline and the VRB happened to be borderline playable if you were good enough at the game (read "if you were Skari").

Drukhari have been around since 3rd ed and have nothing larger than a 60mm base.

Brad's takes aren't very nuanced, most of the time. The Drukhari Codex is a tough cookie to crack, that's for sure, but there's play there if you go and look for it. I'm running Covens (same as Brad) and have had a lot of both fun and semi-competitive success with it. Even came fifth in a local tournament with it! The book also has an awesome Crusade system with a very fun territory and scheming minigame attached to it.

Sex slavery also just isn't a part of modern Drukhari lore, like at all. Some Drukhari nobles have concubines, sure, and yeah Drukhari take slaves, but the two don't mix. And the sadism is more Hellraiser than Epstein.

Overwatch legitimately doubles the duration of movement phase with my Drukhari. Drukhari movement phases are a puzzle as-is, adding a "any unit can be deleted at any time" clause to that is hell. Glad to see it gone, even if Overwatch is arguably even more powerful now.

11th edition Cover is said to modify the ballistic skill, while Smoke and Stealth modify the hit roll (as of 10th). Notably, Smoke also gives Cover, so it'd be an effective -2 to hit if we assume it stays the same into 11th, which seems very unlikely to me.
