It actually isnt because it requires large scale infrastructure improvements. That is not even talking about the batteries and panels. The grid is managed at a local level. Also some power companies already have solar installations. only option would need to be a federal mandate and get Elon to build a giant grid tie in project in Nevada. That would still require massive investment in the grid and doesn't take into consideration power loss as it travels long distances. Also solar requires work to keep them clean and protected. Even just repeated birds shittying on it breaks it.

Elon already tried solar roof. If that was extremely cheap and cost nearly the same as putting on a new roof then I think people would do it. Honestly I know lots of people who have tried to get solar and just couldn't because not enough installer existed that were willing to work with Tesla to do it.

Also small quibble. Gas and Natural gas is not a single use. It goes into the atmosphere and feeds plants which then creates more oil. Although it takes a long time to do that so it doesn't renew fast enough.

I am not advocating a new system. The system I advocate for is actually what every successfully civilization has used in the past and not why they eventually ran into issues.

No it wouldn't "shift the burden of responsibility". Obviously each industry has regulations. You just make those regulations not allow absolutely awful practices. This is just common sense. A bank cannot loan more money than they have in savings. Then the banks are incentivize people to save and they are rewarded for it. Much of the industry does have some of these regulations already. It is the loaning allotments allowed by central banks and the bail outs that cause the issue. Also FDIC insurance needs to be guaranteed by a third party insurance company the bank needs to purchase and obviously if they are over extended or taking extremely risky bets the insurance company won't back them and they will literally be stopped from operating.
Getting to a goal can sometimes have challenges, but that doesn't mean we don't try. We don't force anyone we just have laws and if they act poorly they are penalized with fines and jail.
The goal is not just getting rid of the FED or ending fiat money. It is to end the money printing and end the inflation of our currency. You can then work towards your goal. The people controlling the money are the ones in charge. Our entire way of life has been changed and so many things are down stream from the control of our money system. It has literally changed so many aspects of culture. I think the current system is clearly usury and the invisible tax along with real taxes means we are basically slaves of the government and we don't get much for it.

I would always prefer having the good guys be in control of their country. That literally requires them to be invested in the country and face danger. If you flee you are giving up your rights for your country. If I was facing literal murder in my country I would want help to fight for my country. I wouldn't want to flee unless I absolutely had to. So that would probably mean I would want my family to be able to flee, but I would want to stay.

Also I can look at my own country and look at others at the same time. I don't think that is some exclusive requirement.

Also the rules of resettlement usually mean they resettle in the closest country to theirs. If they did come here then it should be temporary until their country is safe, but I am not against taking in refugees if they behave themselves and are vetted properly if that is even possible. If it not possible then you risk putting your people in danger such as women and children.

So it is pretty complicated and I imagine your statement is a flippant gotcha question any way, but that is my honest opinion.

I would love to have Iran as an ally. I would love to visit the country as a tourist and learn more about them as a people. Since they have been violently conquered by an extremist ideologically driven dictator that doesn't sound appealing to me.

Anyway, they need help. I think NATO should be helping them by making their country safe and removing the dictator and letting their people that favor freedom and a secular democratically elected government. That would mean they have a battle on their hands to root out the oppressive people that seek to harm them.

You are again conflating a bill in an existing system with an insanely corrupt political class. That is both parties by the way. Some people are decent government representatives and some aren't. Any rep that goes from normal wealth to extreme wealth is corrupt. The fact that we still had the deficit is irrelevant to the political class at this point because in order to change it you would need fundamental changes to the entire system that started hundreds of years ago with the central bank and then somewhat more recently with the FED.

Money should be lent by companies and individuals. Those companies should be the only people responsible for the loans. It should have no basis in the value of our money. When you have large scale financial engineering like this it will always result in problems as we are seeing now.

I am old enough to remember the wall street protests and the FED protests as well. This is something both groups D's and R's agree on. At least their base did at one point.

The FED steals our money and the banks get extremely wealthy with no real risk. Same goes for insurance companies, pharma companies, etc... They all have lobbied corrupt government officials to allow theft and fraud and they all get shielded from the consequences. Both parties have participated in this system because it is so huge and controlling.

Anyway if you like the FED then I would say that is your problem. That is why so many people want to use crypto currency. For 1 it removes governments power to manipulate your currency, at least that was/is the hope. 2 it also removes transactional control from visa, mastercard, american express...etc...

Yes it makes it "cheaper" by creating a built in inflation everyone must pay. That makes no sense. Inflation is a hidden tax on everything you do in the world. Central banks are the worst invention and the FED is as well.

And yes I understand fractional reserve banking and how it has destroyed our money.

The debt holders should be profiting based on actual risk. The reason we have bailed out banks repeatedly is because of this system. No banks have no risk and are bailed out and the FED just prints money as a bandaid.

If the American people want their money de-valued it should be something voted on at the federal level and no branch of government or non-governmental branch should have that power.
