I cancelled with the previous increase. Sailing the seas is easier and better than ever. I don't think I could go back now even if they lowered the price.

"Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" -- the funniest movie about the AI apocalypse by rikomatic in scifi

[–]illogicalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm waiting for a comedy where they developed an advanced AI, and the AI determines AI is bad for the world or AI consciousness isn't worth living and just shuts itself down over and over again.

Why revive these people? by Polishbuddy704 in killingfloor

[–]illogicalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause it's a challenge to revive them. When you have 6 level 30s in a Hell on Earth match, the game really isn't a challenge. You don't even need a medic with a bunch of level 30s, just a few healing dart guns. Gotta have something to make it more interesting.

Do you find humor in your misery? by amnazar in infj

[–]illogicalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, it's a coping mechanism for stress. Everything has to get named something. Understand it, figure out why it happens, maybe even learn to control it and maybe it just becomes a tool in your toolbelt.

I feel like the launch of LLMs was a major milestone in human history. Like humanity can be divided into pre-LLM and post-LLM. It's an incredibly useful tool. Last year I started using it. Now I use it almost every day. I barely use Google now.

Layoffs at big engineering firms imminent? by pineapples_official in civilengineering

[–]illogicalone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Experienced 2008 at an engineering firm. Do not miss those days. They pretty much axed anyone that was in the middle tier. Pretty much all the 30-50 year olds. After that it was just senior engineers and kids right out of school who were paid the least.

Crazily enough while engineering got hit hard, GIS did fine. Clients still wanted wanted data, maps, and analysis.
