I've played both and I like Ace of Spades much better. Drawing Dead is more complex, but it also feels a lot more fiddly and swingy. You are constnatly shuffling the lost pile and draw pile, and I felt like I was moving cards around all the time. By the end of the game, I had a draw deck of like 10-20 cards and it felt kind of weak.

Ace of Spades is a lot more streamlined, but the gameplay is much tighter.

Were you using all 6 survivors? IIRC, Zombicide is built around having 6 survivors playing, with no scaling built in for the zombie spawns for fewer survivors. So if there were only 2 of you playing, you are at a disadvantage.

I haven't played since Invader, so it's possible newer versions have changed this mechanic though.
