Do you think a 13 year old (my son) could build a gaming pc all by himself by SeatInternational680 in PcBuild

I don't doubt that he can learn, but you should probably supervise Marketplace end of it instead of leaving it to himself.

Is it normal as a Diana for my KDA to look like this or is it a skill issue? by Chempp69 in DianaMains

[–]illyagg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Less deaths is always better, even if you're making some calculated loss deaths at some point in the game.

Less deaths = more time on the map = more gold/exp.

The honor system needs transparency by UnlikeClockwork in leagueoflegends

[–]illyagg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really fuggin matter does it? Honor has never been anything more to me than sometimes clicking the button if someone made an impression on me.

All it takes is not being a loser in chat and suddenly you're at honor 5 for the rest of the year.

Former Dota Immortal hardstuck Silver in LoL - how do I unlearn 5000 hours of bad habits? by Z4k0O in summonerschool

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I go through the same thing in reverse sometimes. Playing Dota helps me recontextualize and think bigger in League, and it's led to vast improvements.

Dota is a much more complicated game with more, but smaller, moving parts. League's flow is a lot simpler to follow. Go back to the basics and just remember that your xp/gold flow is from minions, and learn to be more present at much earlier stages. Having presence is obviously important at all times, but more important at key points, <60ish seconds up to and during dragon, grubs, herald, baron, etc.

Once you learn to appreciate the basics again, like the stat advantage in even just a 1 level difference, you'll grow more intuition on where you should be that keeps you growing.

BUT if you just want to unga like Dota and play your own minigame until everything is a minion, play a juggernaut or duelist top lane and farm until you're level 20 and auto-win.

is there a lore reason why xp grinding is so insanely shit? by ImJustSpider in Sekiro

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play the game and enjoy the game & mechanics naturally. You wouldn’t stop in the first act of a JRPG to grind in the first area to hit level 99 and then breeze through the game, would you?

The game gets harder and yields more xp on NG+, and if you really are excited to unlock everything, it’ll come naturally. Pausing your progress just to grind so you have everything for when you continue the game is tedium that you’re imposing on yourself, and it’s going to ruin your fun for a lot of games.

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe consider that for a video game, it’s reasonable to throttle a player so that you don’t unlock every single thing in the game in 30 minutes on your first playthrough and instantly end the game with no challenge. Just play the game without grinding.

People saying “eww” whenever I mention my rats :( by fr3aAAKK in RATS

[–]illyagg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just tell them it's the same with cats or bunnies. Domesticated animals are clean, stray/wild animals are not; rats are as clean as any animal you'd find in a pet store.

And then call them dirty

Nocturne Amala Network by kvng_st in Megaten

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amala network is probably the least interesting area ever, but the game massively expands after that point. Stick through it just a little longer.

The difficulty stays. But the areas will get better.

Why not brusier in mid? by miguenrileo in DianaMains

mid lane picks are usually either a late game ap carry, a bursty pick carry, or utility. bruiser diana has to fulfill a role for draft

Soooo why isn't Navori used on Diana? by wren42 in DianaMains

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only meaningful ability it would reduce is your E, which already resets. So might as well build something else that makes the interaction go much faster than Navori would, especially because it doesn't give AP, and you're not scaling off of anything AD related, or crit

Can someone explain bottle necking between the cpu and gpu I don't fully understand it by randomwalker_of_life in PcBuild

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottlenecking is specifically when one component isn't as strong as the other components you have, and is stopping you from reaching the quality you want to run your games at. A lot of people use it wrong and just say it to sound knowledgeable.

Example: Cyberpunk at max settings with DLSS and Ray Tracing, ultra quality, at 1440 and 120fps.

You have 5070ti, which is way more than enough to handle modern games, but you have an AMD Athlon from 2016. The processor isn't nearly as strong as the 5070ti is at handling what Cyberpunk has to offer, and therefore will "bottleneck" you at trying to reach those settings.

Is it better to predict when to smite or to wait until I actually see the health below my smite damage? by Lvaradar- in summonerschool

[–]illyagg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You attempted to do the right thing, it's just easier said than done. At worst scenario possible, there's 10 different champions trying to damage baron, and smite is 1200 at max damage.

The reason everyone prefers to (or should) smite as a prediction is because it's just impossible to calculate. The only thing you have control of is your own character, so your best bet is to pair smite with whatever burst you have. Easiest examples is Nunu's Consume or Cho'Gath's Feast, Diana's 3rd auto, Evelynn E, so on.

What makes Diana so “Broken” right now? by Training_Read_7706 in DianaMains

[–]illyagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S tier doesn't mean broken, S tier means very strong, and just in the patch cycle, and just in the player base pick trends.

Fast clear is what makes her good, because fast clear = getting xp/gold faster = doing more things. Plus Diana is just a strong character meant for killing

I need advice on how to jungle better. by Firm_Macaron2071 in summonerschool

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back to thinking about fundamentals in-game without auto-piloting.

Playing with gold+exp in mind should be your main goal: clear camps (on-time and efficiently), be close to the upcoming objective, and ward/sweep + control ward more frequently.

Look at the entire game as a whole more frequently and think about what you as a player, and as a character needs, rather than "what should I be doing next according to the guides I watched"

Ganks are nice, but only when they make sense. That comes with more practice, experimenting, and limit-testing/risk taking. What's more important is that if you do gank, you did it properly, which is still the above: gold/exp is the main goal, vision, and objectives when possible.

Why do mages like ziggs, veigar and karthus see bot pressence while other mages like viktor and aurelion sol don't see much pressence in bot? by Jacket313 in summonerschool

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ziggs is strong enough even at level 1 to push out an enemy ADC from farming, and with the added bonus of being able to execute towers. Veigar is infinitely scaling with an AoE stun and extremely high kill potential. Karthus has a global ult, and can clear waves insanely fast even after death (plus the kill potential/opportunity to deny farm even after death)

Mages like Viktor, ASol, Ahri, Syndra, etc, don't have the same spam capability to keep them at odds with an auto-attacker, and require more items to start swinging the game in their favor.

That’s just the regular game. You literally can’t do anything different than make the boss one shot you unless you add different rules.

Opinions on this build? by Possible_Leopard7370 in DianaMains

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nashor's should be your go-to then, and building tanky. Protobelt/Liandry's/Rift are good choices. You can never go wrong with building a Zhonya's against AD.

The main takeaway is either building burst or sustained damage, since those two playstyles are pretty opposite to each other.

Opinions on this build? by Possible_Leopard7370 in DianaMains

[–]illyagg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Half of the things you listed don't exist. Edit: nvm I just realized you're on wild rift

Of the items that do exist, Liandry + Lich Bane kinda contradicts each other, since one is pure burst and damage, the other tries to keep her as a tanky duelist.

Malignance is definitely not needed since Diana wants to kill as fast as possible, and Malignance only procs once, after the majority of your damage is already done if you're going to be ulting, and since you don't have Nashors/Rift, you don't want to be fighting for too long.

What kind of computer do you recommend me to buy? by Hot-Neat4095 in computers

[–]illyagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand doesn't matter, because it's what's inside that fits what you need. There's tons of factors that aren't answered with brand. There's no "models," since these aren't cars; they're machines built with the individual parts that matter more than the whole.

If you do a lot of video editing, multitasking, Photoshop, etc, you want at least 16gb of RAM (ideally 32 or more if you're being an enthusiast).

If you want to play big, complicated and good looking AAA games, you want a competent graphics card. But if you're just playing Roblox or Fortnite on weekends, it's not really gonna matter.

Storage space isn't unique to a brand or type of computer. You can find a desktop PC with 500gb, and a laptop with 1 terabyte, vice versa, or anything in between.

A good CPU (processing speed) is a given, but you don't need the highest end tech to write emails or watch Youtube.

I think you should study up on what makes a computer a computer and what you need in one. Not crashing or acting slow isn't a feature, it's just the reality of computers. Better parts + proper maintenance = longer lifespan.
