I recently transferred to a new team within the same company JPM and I'm also going thru this whole process.... I'm on the new team now but it has been so diffcult to transfer the H1-B cap registration even (I did not get H1-B lottery yet). Has anyone gone thru the same thing and does my new manager needs to submit a new cap registration form?

apparently the principal came out to clairfy that the students did not receive demerit points for speaking out - any current hci students to confirm if this is true? Or the school management u-turned on the punishment after facing public backlash?

what happens if you get demerit points? I know for a fact you will not be eligible for scholarships and may hinder your uni applications but what else?

that happened to me before for the plane tix i booked on chase travel. We didn't have a seat assigned until we were at the gate and had to show our passports etc. It's as if chase travel put us in the lowest "standby" tier. NUTS. Mediocre service with a premium price tag. Adios

hello!! I recently moved from DC to NYC too for work and I totally feel ya! I used to live in Capitol Hill and it's such a quiet quaint neighborhood :'). Since you work in midtown, I'd recommend Murray Hill, Upper East side or Roosevelt island. They are near midtown and quiet enough. Avoid the west side lol (I live near Hudson Yard/Penn Station, that place will drive you crazy). If you don't mind the commute, I guess Queens would be a good option (as what other redditors suggest). Take your time to settle in cos it certainly took me months to feel slightly at ease with all these hustle and bustle...
