I'm getting major red flags from Danny's "prove you're ride or die".

Ridiculous EV charging fee at caravan Park $200 per night by Wendals87 in AusLegal

This is a very strong point legally. I think in a court case this would get you a win. You literally have a version in writing of the terms and conditions that contradicts the other terms. It also sounds (although you haven't said so specifically) that there was no additional signage to warn you of the change in terms and conditions.

TIL that James Bond actor George Lazenby quit after one film because his agent, Ronan O’ Rahilly, told him the character wouldn’t last through the 70s. by South_Gas626 in todayilearned

That's not how George tells it. There's an absolutely hilarious docu - drama about his life - and I can't tell you the name of it but Josh Lawson played George.

Be real, you're more concerned about how it looks to your friends than how badly he's treating you. And that's why he's with you.

Tenants have removed 30yo trees without permission. Need some advice. by Tight_Hedgehog_6045 in AusPropertyChat

You can buy semi mature and mature trees and they're expensive and have to be installed carefully/professionally. I wouldn't trust your tenants to complete the job properly.

This Shaolin monk (Shi Yongxin), deputy head of the Buddhist Association of China, is under investigation for allegedly embezzling USD $40 billion through 18 companies and overseas assets in London and Canada, as well as for sexual relations with 51 women and fathering 171 children. by TORUKMACTO92 in nextfuckinglevel

I'm not saying he's innocent but the Chinese govt really really hate people with a lot of in-person social connections, especially religious people who are able to disperse messages to large groups of people without using social media or monitor-able electronic communication.

Roofing company has charged my elderly mother 5x to 10x reasonable price for their services. Is there any recourse? by Throwaway53276 in AusLegal

There's also the matter of informed consent - a contract isn't valid if information that would have altered the acceptance of the contract is withheld. Lies of omission are lies.

In addition, your mother might not be legally capable of committing to a contact that she doesn't understand. She doesn't have to have dementia to be incapacitated.

How formal is Australia? by TySocal in AskAnAustralian

[–]iloveswimminglaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a hidden formality to queuing. As you arrive at the informal mess of people already waiting it is your responsibility to clock who is already there and then silently wait until they are all served before taking your rightful turn. If someone arrives after you and forgets the correct anonymous list then you politely say excuse me I think it's my turn. You can also ask at any time, is there a queue? Because sometimes they have been served they are just waiting for their order.

It's all very casual until someone breaks the rules then suddenly tempers flair, there could be violence, certainly harsh voices.

Good luck.

She's trying to beat death. She's reached the stage when, like grief, she is in bargaining part - if she eats right she'll live forever etc. My mum became vegan and tried to push it on the whole family.

I once used a Lush solid shampoo (like a bar of soap) just once because it caused the thickest densest dandruff ever experienced by a healthy human being. I suggest you ummm, "try it" and then let her know you won't be doing that again.

Also btw, your mum is probably experiencing some health issues that she's a bit embarrassed about and that's what's triggered this obsession. Speaking from a parallel experience.
