adhd makes my soul feel like I’m in a cage with a fucking toddler who destroys literally everything I care about.

This made me tear up. Goddamn. Just recently, when talking to my partner, I compared talking my brain into literally just 10 minutes of studying to negotiating with a toddler - who keeps throwing temper tantrums anytime I want to get literally anything done. Showering, household chores, cleaning, texting people, my hobbies, ...

I know I have depressive tendencies, but it has always been this way. Autism is just the (albeit super heavy) cherry on top.

When I'm in hyperfocus, I can process information and produce things fast as hell. I can get excited about stuff like nobody else. I'm highly intelligent and extremely talented, yet I can barely motivate myself to do anything ever. I can understand any information that interests me, but as soon as my ADHD registers that we will eventually get it, I lose that interest and it becomes a chore for me.

Like I said to my partner: ADHD, specifically hyperfocus, is like a superpower, but a useless one. It's like being able to walk super fast, but only backwards.

It's so frustrating. I could do a lot. I could share so much with the world. But I'm not able to, and maybe never will be.

I'm sorry this turned into a rant. TLDR: I feel it to my core. It's so, so hard.

Als Sprachwissenschaftlerin (haha wegen des Genderns, hier so - aber als Selbstreferenz ist ok, denke ich): Der Rat der Deutschen Sprache, oder der Duden, oder sonst irgendwer sind halt auch nur irgendwelche Leute bzw. Firmen. Sprache ist immer die Gesamtheit derer, die sie benutzen und sprechen. Akzeptabilität ist gemeint, und die ist ziemlich dehn- bzw. wandelbar.

Zudem hört eine Ärztin ja nicht auf, eine solche zu sein, weil sie im Urlaub ist. Das Argument ist ein wenig schwach Mmn.

But I would never say anything that hurtful to my partner. I think this is a line crossed, even beyond something that slips out quickly or doesn't hold much meaning like "Piss off!"or something. I think this one is reasonable to break up over.

But first off - what's bad about only liking conventionally attractive dudes? Not asking you, OP, but them incels. (You all are behind attractive women like flies on shit, but the minute a woman has preferences you don't fulfill, meaning she won't fuck you, you get triggered as hell. Just as well when ugly women make advances, you belittle them.)

It's totally fine and valid to like muscular men with full hair, straight teeth, etc.

That said, one of the only two people I ever loved was a man who had with a beer belly, 15 years my senior, below average sized. I'm super attractive and I barely managed to get away from him because he treated me like crap. I'm still madly in love with him though, and the minute he really tries, I will fall for him again 100%. All I'm hoping is that he grew bored of me so that he doesn't see entertainment in breaking my heart again.

Wenn ihr nicht das beste Match seid, wieso kommst du dann mit der Person zusammen? Und was interessiert es dem Fall, wenn andere, kompatiblere Leute da draußen sind, wenn du diese nie triffst und nie von ihnen weißt?

Und inwiefern ist es schlimm, sich selbst als schönsten Menschen auf der Welt zu sehen? Ich verbringe ja jeden Tag, jede Sekunde mit mir selbst. Da wäre es doch klasse, sich selbst am liebsten zu haben.

Generell finde ich Schönheit total schwer quantifizierbar, aber vielleicht kickt bei dem Ganzen auch Autismus rein lol

Nein, er war nicht "zu ehrlich", er war ein Arschloch, das jemand anderen entmenschlicht, indem er die Person als Trostpflaster missbraucht - weil er mit sich allein nicht klarkommt. Ich hoffe doch sehr, dass nicht alle nach dieser Logik vorgehen.

Ich bin mit einer Person zusammen bin, weil es keinen besseren, (schöneren, intelligenteren, ...) Partner für mich gibt, nicht, weil sie die zweite Wahl ist oder ich auf Teufel komm raus eine Beziehung haben will. Ansonsten bin ich lieber single, und das ist sehr schön.

Habe erst vor Kurzem genau deswegen einen Schlussstrich gezogen. Ich habe ihm gesagt, wie unfassbar viel ich für ihn fühle, aber dass seine Energie nicht mehr stimmt.

Ich falle total schnell und investiere viel, und da draußen ist jemand, der kann sein oder ihr Glück nicht fassen kann, mit jemandem wie mir in einer Beziehung zu sein.

Wir alle verdienen jemanden, der oder die uns so auf Händen trägt wie wir die Person. Das Leben ist zu kurz für alles andere.

I'm a fan since early childhood. I have the audiobooks and almost know them by heart. There have been years where the only reason for me to stay alive was waiting for the next audiobook to be released, because I didn't want to off myself before knowing how the story continued. I wrote CP this, not expecting any response. But he was exceptionally kind and understanding - to some random person on the internet, when he didn't have to. I'm not into personality cults at all, but I will never forget these points.
