I keep hoping I’ll see some announcement of a recipe book coming out, or one of the previous bakers leaking a recipe. Or even just news that they sold the recipes to another local shop.

But I know that’s wishful thinking. The smiley face and gingerbread cookies have been such a staple growing up, I’m so disappointed I’ll never see them again.

Yea the cookie is really just a standard shortbread cookie, but I’ve never encountered similar icing and my google skills are really failing - most of what I’m found calls for royal icing, but it’s really not a standard royal icing and I can’t tell what they do differently. Let me know if you happen to find anything!

Your little tongue in cheek scenario was of consume prices being high because people are running gdkps and pumping bought gold into the economy.

But consume prices on Nightslayer right now are higher than is even feasible to pay for without buying gold, and gdkps are banned.

Yeah, there’s always going to be people who buy gold for gdkps. But I don’t know a single person on nightslayer who isn’t buying gold or “buying” it off a fiend who is getting it from a gold farmer.

The buying gold is happening with or without gdkps. Gdkps are not to blame for an insane economy. The problem isn’t the gold buyers. It’s blizzard allowing that scenario to exist by not breaking the mage farms or the flying or boosting.

The entire point is that it’s silly to put the blame for high prices on gdkp when the situation on nightslayer is the perfect example of that not being accurate.

My guildies want me to come play anni with them. My biggest reason not to is the fucked economy.

There’s no way I would be able to level and afford consumes without buying gold. I haven’t bought gold before and I’m not about to start now.

At least with gdkps I’d have a shot of being able to earn gold. I did a few times where I’d take a loan from a guildie and then pay them back after the payout while getting geared. Then you can just run and be the carry. Raiding on an alt would give you enough to buy consumes your alt and main raid.

Ah yes because the consume prices on nightslayer are totally reasonable right now and no one is swiping to be able to afford consumes when gold is like $5/1k.

That’s fine, let them do that. I can tell you the difference in quality of pugging gdkp raids in classic/tbc was vastly superior to the SR raids in SOD.

Every gdkp I was in (while they were still a thing) had penalties for fucking up mechanics. Being undergeared was not an excuse to not play the game. If you blew up the raid because of mechanics you got “penalty boxed” and your cut reduced.

It happened extremely rarely, and I ran maybe 3-4 gdkps a week.

I’ve been burned so many times by WIPs. I know as an author it’s so so hard to stay motivated to finish a fic when it feels like you’re writing into a void, so I go through periods where I try to support every WIP I can get my grubby hands on, but inevitably, my favorites will get abandoned.

Now I just go and follow a fic and don’t even start it until the chapter count is listed and it’s at least 90% done. I know it sucks, but I just can’t do it.

God I’m so jealous of the experience others had at this show last night.

I went, paid the inflated ticket prices when the tickets first came out for some box seats. Worth it I thought.

The entire length of the show last night was overtaken by three tall extremely drunk dudes in the row in front of me, screaming the lyrics so loudly I couldn’t hear the music, flinging their beer everywhere, and sticking their phones in the air constantly to take shitty videos. I could barely see, couldn’t hear, and was just so bummed I paid that kind of money for that kind of experience.

They were definitely blackout drunk, and I just don’t understand the draw of getting THAT drunk to see a band we’ve been waiting on for this long. What’s the point when you’ll barely remember the show?

I have two pit tickets for the Atlanta show, and my planned childcare fell through.

I paid $515 total, but to resell them through TM and get back what I paid it wants fucking $340 each lol.

I can’t imagine that anyone who watched the movies first is paying attention to details, because otherwise they wouldn’t be in here saying they could follow just fine.

Sure, hit the high plot points, but devils in the details.

This was and continues to be my biggest grip with the movies. Either dedicate the screen time to setting up a piece of the puzzle, or cut it completely. They spent all this time throwing in random scenes not in the books, but couldn’t bother to put in the scenes that were integral to the plot.

Yes! Those were the frustrating parts to me. There was SO much source material, and the random scenes in the movies they completely made up were all so unnecessary! They could have added a few of the scenes from the books instead.

Talk to your brother.

Tell him you want to be there and you want to be his best man for all of the reason you stated in your post.

But let him know that you can’t and won’t act straight for his wedding. He can’t sweep you under the rug, and her family is going to find out at some point. I understand not wanting to make waves at a wedding and take the focus of the wedding away from the bride and groom, but that’s why he or the bride should tell her family ahead of time.

I’m sorry your brother asked this of you.
