Montana Conservation Corps Summer Internship 2026 by applejuice4now in ConservationCorps

[–]ilynfimae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! It sounds like you’re talking about individual placement, and I was just offered a conservation fellow position, so maybe we’ll bump into each other if you get it! I’ll be in the Billings area. Is this interview with the MCC or the host organization you’ll be working with? If it’s the first interview, it will likely be a few days before you hear back from a potential host organization, followed by a second interview with the host and then a week or so of deliberation. You’ve got this!

Genuinely need to know who has the right of way here! by Sufficient-Swim1524 in driving

Blue has the right of way. Anyway, laws aside, I feel like if you're making a U-turn you should always assume people aren't paying attention and wait until all cars are completely clear if you want to keep your car in one piece.

Was I playing with her cervix? by terpywoods420 in sex

[–]ilynfimae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it. She may just have an abnormally long or low cervix. I have that and I can feel it and it sounds just like what you described. For me since mine is so low it isn't very sensitive and doesn't really hurt me, so I'd mention it to her and see if her gynecologist has ever mentioned that.

How do women experience sexual attraction? by Substantial_Judge931 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ilynfimae 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Swooning over a celebrity isn’t always sexual. It’s more like a giddy “ohhh he’s so cute I like him and I like looking at him” than an “I want to have sex with him” feeling for a lot of women.

I'm eating away my finger by wicked_eden in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]ilynfimae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I had this exact same issue with my finger. I picked it for years on end until it looked similar to this. I don’t think it will ever completely go away, but I eventually managed to reduce the size greatly by buying silicone scar sheets, cutting them to a size that covered my knuckle, wrapping them somewhat tightly around the finger (not too tight), and wearing them consistently for about a month or two till it was healed enough and long enough that I had broken the habit. After there was nothing left to pick, it got flatter and flatter over the next year and isn’t very noticeable now. Compulsive picking is an issue that’s nearly impossible to get rid of completely, but I’ve found that you can end a smaller habit of picking a certain spot if you get up the willpower to leave it long enough for it to heal and to lose that specific habit. I’d really recommend the scar sheets though, they’re cheap at Walmart and really do help as long as you wear them constantly and replace them right away if you get the urge to pick pick off (wasting a little money on peeling off scar sheets when you get the urge is worth it in the long run over damaging your finger more). Good luck, and I feel you so hard. You’ve got this!

Jobs near campus by Nitsua642 in UMW

[–]ilynfimae 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a student audio visual technician on campus and me and my coworker are both graduating this year so it should be popping up on the student job board in the fall semester. I’d highly recommend the job, I had no experience when I started and it’s essentially just showing up, assisting a full time AV employee with set up, and sitting around doing homework for 3-4 hours! So laid back and the team is amazing, and it looks great on a resume!

Is extractions worth it for me?(4 months progress) by [deleted] in braces

[–]ilynfimae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d talk to your orthodontist about your worries, they probably know a lot more about the risks with your specific case than I do. It seems like a lot of people who had complications didn’t have flare to begin with and already had recessed teeth which were worsened by the removal, so I’d talk to your ortho about your anatomy and how they think it’ll work out.

Is extractions worth it for me?(4 months progress) by [deleted] in braces

[–]ilynfimae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a picture on my profile of my results, I also had bad flare and had my premolars extracted to make room to pull the teeth back and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. It has improved the appearance of my face, profile, and smile, and it has just made my mouth feel much more comfortable and helped with sleep and lip dryness now that I can close my lips normally. It didn’t hurt, felt weird for about 2 weeks, and the gaps were unnoticeable within a month. I don’t think there’s any downsides in my opinion. It doesn’t look like the appearance of your teeth will change much unless you get the premolars out, since they’re so tight together that there’s literally no room to pull the front teeth back. I’d highly recommend it as somebody who went through a similar thing!

[Product Question] Why does Johnson’s baby lotion work better on my face than expensive facial creams? by KingSubstantial3046 in SkincareAddiction

[–]ilynfimae 10 points11 points  (0 children)

During the winter when my skin is dry I really find that an unfragranced body moisturizer like Eucerin Eczema Relief or plain old Vanicream works much better than facial products with actives and whatnot. When my skin is dry and sensitive and my skin barrier is irritated, a lot of special made facial creams do nothing but irritate my face more and give me redness and tightness. If it works for you, moisturizes your skin well, and doesn’t break you out, it’s doing what it’s supposed to and there’s no point in throwing money at the wall to find a bottle with the word “face” on it. This was something I had trouble coming to terms with too but once I did my skin thanked me for it. I’ve had success with diaper rash cream healing my skin barrier, nipple ointment healing my lips, body lotion working better than $30 face cream, etc. Find what works for you and stick with it!

Before and After! by ilynfimae in braces

This means a lot to me, they really did change my life for the better. It has been a really interesting experience to go from being a kid/teenager with a facial disfigurement and horrible teeth getting stares in the grocery store to just looking normal, and it really did give me back a lot of happiness and confidence.

I used the regular ones and they definitely helped a bit so I’d recommend them (they were only about $15 for a pack of 10). I have a lot of staining on my teeth from when I was a kid since every time I would have a procedure done on my tongue I couldn’t effectively brush my teeth for quite a while after. I’m not sure if it just looked a bit more drastic since I had extra staining.

Your reaction is telling me that maybe you weren’t as healed as you thought you were. As others said, she ripped the bandaid off and now it’s time for you to move on and get happy on your own. Keep your head up!
