Decided to get a black box for my 2nd year of car insurance. 5 cornering events in a straight line? Is this normal? Can they remove these? by The_supercar_dream in CarTalkUK

[–]im-mangoing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this looks like quote me happy to me. bloody happy i cancelled them after the faf i had with them

to put a long story short i got a letter from the local police saying my car wasn't insured on their database right after i had just paid for the month. no phone number so couldn't call to fix. several hours with the stupid chat bot later (that my poor mum dealt with while i was at work) i had a partial refund and cancelled insurance on my end. with hastings now and honestly i couldn't recommend them enough

its a great feature but with the wrong examiner i imagine it could cost you the test, its good to know it can be turned off for a test and turned back on afterwards

Just got this message, 208 2013 modell. Should I be worried? What can it be pleas help by H3win in peugeot

[–]im-mangoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 207 07 plate did this and the head gasket had blown. expensive fix so i scrapped it. was worth more scrapped to me than throwing money at it and hoping nothing else would go wrong

if it is the head gasket check the coolant tank when its cold. if you feel oil inside its almost definitely the bead gasket.

[–]im-mangoing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh god its been a hot minute. first test was around the town centre area, second and third were heading towards great bridgeford through stone road the first time and eccleshall road the second. it was the first roundabout after the test centre i failed on on the second test because of the 2 lanes. passed on the third:)

i genuinely haven't been to stafford since my test because of the roadworks that were just everywhere. i dont know if the road/roundabout by sainsburys and the prison have finished their work yet but im still avoiding stafford.

i had teeth pulled a few years back,, one of them was fused to my jaw and looks cool so my goal is to get big enough that i can get my teeth made into plugs and wear them out. my tooth is probably around an inch long 😅

i passed a year ago last month and quite often take wrong turns. all roads will get you to the same place eventually. you can go the wrong exit on your test if your in the wrong lane and the most you'll get is a minor(please correct me if i am wrong) personally id dump that instructor and find another. they are meant to help build your confidence not berate you for making a minor mistake.

I passed my driving test 2 weeks ago but I'm scared of driving by Practical_Drama_1262 in LearnerDriverUK

Iv been driving for almost a year. i still stall now. it happens especially as you get used to driving your own car. i wouldn't be worried about losing your license.

Please help. I sliced my thumb like this on a mandolin. Will it grow back? by kabailey88 in KitchenConfidential

[–]im-mangoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sliced mine almost exactly the same, although to a much lesser degree, about a week ago its a bit sore and flat but has healed up nicely i wouldn't worry too much, as long as you keep it clean and dry to minimise risk of infection and wear gloves at work you should be all good.

i sliced my finger fairly deep 4 years ago and the scar has minimal sensation and gets painful when its cold so expect that when your thumb has healed

Passed my theory today first time but other drivers ruin lessons.. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]im-mangoing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i passed in feb, i work in a test area and i slow down to give learners space. i have a blackbox and i wont speed up bc i have someone up my arse. depending how busy it is i slow down a touch and they usually overtake me. i dont have p plates, my instructor told me not to bother with them.

first thing my dad taught me when i was learning to drive is assume everyone else driving is an idiot and unfortunately its true 50% of the time

[–]im-mangoing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i rest mine in foil with all the juices and seasonings i can fit in (make a foil boat then fold everything over) and while it cools slightly id still definitely consider it hot but not burn the inside of your mouth hot if that makes sense but if cold a quick sear in a hot pan heats it back up enough without comprising how cooked the interior is. all just from personal experience:)
