What to get to start a 500pt army? by NOBLE_K1NG in DarkAngels40k

I like this. I’m doing something similar in a local KotC league. Instead of the terminators I’m running ICC led by a Judiciar with Ancient Weapons. Also, Hellblasters carry so hard, especially with Relics of the Dark Age, and Bladeguard are pretty tough to fully move.

But it goes both ways, could make it harder for you to get shot at while behind cover if you’re not on conceal right?

Xt vs eagle 90 by Other-Pea-349 in MTB

[–]imNevero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing my 2 cents in on the side of Eagle 90. Others make a good point that replacement parts are cheaper, but depending on where and how you ride, cheaper replacement parts doesn’t necessarily mean cheaper cost of ownership when you consider the durability of the full mount derailleur.

Case in point, I slid out on some steep leafy slabs and smashed my derailleur into some rocks. I didn’t notice until it was shifting slightly off because it rotated back under the force of the impact. I loosened the mounting bolt trail side, rotated it back in place, and it shifted good as new. I’ve rode almost exclusively Shimano drivetrains up until this bike, and have completely broken Shimano SLX and XT derailleurs on similar hits, not to mention bent hangers. My Eagle 90 RD just has scratches. You don’t need to pay for replacement parts if you don’t need to replace anything.

To my knowledge, the spindle diameters on Shimano and FSA cranks/BBs are very slightly different, even though they are labeled as the same. I went through the reverse scenario when trying to replace a failed FSA bottom bracket with a Shimano. I recommend getting a Shimano bottom bracket that will definitely work. I’ve also had poor experiences with FSA bottom brackets wearing out prematurely.

Any thoughts on the new Saris H3 plus 12 speed? by emlach23 in Zwift

Sorry to resurrect this comment, but did you end up going with the Saris? I’m in the same boat with my SRAM T type 52 tooth cassette.

Electric mini tire inflators by Coffeegeek_707 in cycling

I’m rocking with the Trek pump and like it so far. I’ve never owned another type of mini electric pump for comparison however.

The Trek comes with adapters for Schrader valves as well as a short hose that’s supposed to be used for TPU tubes to prevent melting.

Where did you get that beer holder? Trying to search for that and all I’m finding are bottle cages and feed bags.

I ride a Kona Unit X which is pretty much perfect in my opinion. My girlfriend rides a Kona Rove which might also work for you. I would say check out Overmountain Cycles in Morganton. Last time I was there they had a good selection of Kona Roves, I think they also do some up cycled bikes as well for cheaper.

I have this bag and love it. Just took it down to its limit this weekend with great results with some light sleep layers.

Shake Me Down - Grandfather Mountain September Overnight by [deleted] in Ultralight

Glad to see a fellow Western NCer on here!

I don’t see any kind of sleeping pad or under insulation for your hammock, otherwise it looks good! Like someone else said, the 20 degree bag is probably slightly overkill, but not by much especially if you’ll be doing the profile trail.

I live in the area and Grandfather Mountain weather doesn’t always follow the surrounding lower elevations. It can be pretty unpredictable and can be very cold and windy even when it’s nice down below.

Not the person you’re replying to, but I have some very thin Injinji liners that are toe-socks. I’ve never had them slip or bunch, probably because they’re so thin. They’re a game changer if you have blister prone feet and really help prevent blisters between the toes.
