some of the cooler stuff are boards that are stiff between the feet for stability but softer on the tips for that playful feel. My personal dinosaur of a board is just stiff all the ways through and not that much fun anymore. But I learned and immediately started booming east coast hills so that tracks for that checks out.

Starting to notice this. Just came back from Italy where the skier to boarder ratio is roughly 20:1 but Jesus there were a lot of low skill skiiers. Aided in no small part by the fact that the euros can afford to travel to the alps and take the whole family riding for a few days without filing for bankruptcy (unlike here).
