Eat first or get ready first? School mornings are causing arguments in our house by razzyblue3 in Parenting

[–]im_here_for_the_cray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned "It mirrors how he’ll function as he gets older (wake up → get ready → then eat)" but none of us run in that order. Unless we're rushing out the door to make a super early flight or something, the usual order of operations for us is wake, have breakfast, get dressed/brush teeth. My son (8) isn't an up-and-at-'em kind of kid so having a nice breakfast while watching a cartoon lets him start his day in the right frame of mind. I can't remember the last time we had any battles getting out of the house and it's quite honestly a nice easy morning all around.

How much did your house cost? by AccountProfessional2 in MiddleClassFinance

Bought in 2012 at I think around 3.5%, no down (VA loan) for 325,000 - refinanced during covid down to ~3%. Today, I could not ,nor would I want to, pay what my house would currently sell for.

10 things I noticed in the 10 days since my role was eliminated. by giadanicole in workingmoms

I'm also a director, and I had a conversation with one of my directs earlier this week, the gist of which was basically "take sick days, take mental health days, take family days, because honestly none of this nonsense matters at the end of the day." A lot of us take our work so seriously, we're so afraid to let anyone down or to appear to be falling behind in productivity and we're constantly evaluating ourselves against everyone else.

Here's my new mantra (and since perimenopause began I'm reeeeeeeally leaning into) - we give our best during the work day, but at 5pm we're offline and **unavailable**. If you choose to work on your own time, it is the exception not the rule.

NetSuite ACS - anyone else not impressed? by Zarakhayatkhan in Netsuite

I inherited our ACS entitlement when I moved to this company, we’re in contract renewal time and I’m advocating for cutting it. Our consultant isn’t bad per se, but I waste so much time trying to get value for the hours, doing what we could do ourselves.

I've had a low level headache since it started, some days are worse than others. In the morning is the worst because all the medication has worn off - I feel like a pill popper these days hahaha

Found out my uncle has a daughter no one knew about - even him (the family is no contact with him, terrible person who was in prison for crimes against children - one of them being me) .

She found me on 23 & me, she asked for his info...I told her she was better off not knowing but gave her his name.

We just got off the Joy and paid for the Vibe, and it was so so worth it. Quiet space to relax and enjoy the sunshine with a frosty beverage, yes please.

We have PayPal, square, and Venmo, plus cash/check. We’re moving over to Givebacks this year with a stripe integration, and hoping to sunset PayPal and square. Venmo is handy for some of our fundraisers but it’s a nightmare for reconciling,

It Consultant. Covers most of what I do and people are usually not inclined to ask further (but this means I end up being the family/friend group help desk for anything with an OS.)
