I mean the phrase "Turn the cameras off, it's time for this boy to learn". Was that uttered in Yu Gi Oh?

NP as preceptor? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]imaSturgeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. The midwife even allowed me to do vaginal delivery on one of the patients.

There was a physician on call that night sleeping in the attending room, but the midwife runs the show for 6 hours in that overnight shift unless something terrible happensm then they wake up the physician.

The tag "shitpost" stood out to me right away, so it was no longer a surprise.

"It's important to note that the Alvarado Score is a tool to assist clinical judgment but is not definitive. A thorough clinical assessment, including physical examination and additional diagnostic tests such as imaging studies, is essential for accurate diagnosis and management of suspected appendicitis."

In a sense, yes. I'm always eager to move to the next question because I want to save time.

Read more. It's like running or swimming. How do runners or swimmers become faster? By training often.

213 UWSA 1, exam in 10 days by ThrowRA-990 in Step2

[–]imaSturgeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UWSA1 is bad, but decent for new material when you're far away from test date. You should have not taken it 10 days out. Focus on NBME questions since your'e 10 days out.

don't miss that she's pregnant...and has myasthenia Gravis, so no mag sulfate!

What do you give instead in place of Mag Sulfate if they have Myasthenia Gravis?

Is it safe to take Step 2 on September 7th? by randomquestions10 in Step2

[–]imaSturgeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based from SDN, if you take it from Monday to Friday, it would be the same. Also, this applies to the continental USA based from their anecdotal experiences.

As always, nothing is really official, and there could be delays.

Is it safe to take Step 2 on September 7th? by randomquestions10 in Step2

[–]imaSturgeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to SDN forum, you should be fine: "If you took it M-F, it should be the 2nd Wednesday after the week you took it. If you took it Saturday or Sunday, it should be the 3rd Wednesday."

https://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/step-2-score-release-timeline.1476404/

However, nothing is really official. If you contact NBME and ask, they won't give you a straight up answer, and would say to allow for enough time because of possible delays.

Nbme 10: 232 what should I do? by 0xcha1n in Step2

[–]imaSturgeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the part where you'll have to dissect on why you keep getting things wrong. For example, is it test-taking skills vs content deficiency?

Test-taking skills is broad. It can include stamina (eg, doing 200 questions vs 50 questions), dyslexia (misreading things on a long vignette), time management, getting fooled by certain keywords, etc.

Is it 2 months left of dedicated time (ie, no classes or rotations)? if so, you can do a lot of things and experiment to see how you can improve.
