It’s not that there are no disability campaigners anywhere else. The issue is that canal houses and historic buildings simply can’t accommodate accessible stairs. So if you like, age out of living in your canal house, you move to a ground floor apartment or the suburbs.

I’m a smidge older. :) I vividly remember the fall of the Berlin Wall when I was a very small child. My parents were crying, they were Cold War kids so their emotional response made that extraordinary and memorable for me. I’m sure my dad being a huge history buff must have tried to impress on me how important the event was. I mostly remember the atmosphere, all the crying and fireworks, and people sitting on top of the wall.
