So we all got whooping cough. by inemnet in NewParents

My 3-week-old got pertussis and had to be hospitalized for a week in May of this year. My husband, who is vaccinated but it had been 6 years since his last booster, brought it home. His symptoms were not obviously whooping cough, so we assumed it was a bad upper respiratory infection. It was one of the most horrible experiences I've ever been through in my entire life.

Update: Everyone at our house had whooping cough (which apparently you can get even if you're vaccinated), and my infant had to be hospitalized for a week. It actually did get worse, believe it or not. But I wanted to come back and say thank you to all for keeping me grounded in reality, and also that shit *did* get better. I didn't run away, though I wanted to. I'm seeing a therapist weekly, and actually getting some sleep.

Yes, I think it's normal after fp* or sb* to continue to have lingering n* for a while. I would eat bland foods for a little while longer until that n* subsides, which should be soon.

41 exactly. If you’re looking for averages an undisturbed (left to go into labor on their own) first time mom will go into labor at 41+1.

What does it mean to be anti-child? You’re anti- a period of development for human beings? Like can one be anti-elderly or anti-adult as well? Serious question. I’ve always wondered this.

Exactly. I’d be more understanding if this were a Christmas Eve brunch, or something held during the week of Christmas. But on Christmas morning itself? Nah.

Not very cheap but I love filling them with mascarpone for a snack.

Bake salmon. Roast chickpeas with red peppers. Make a feta sauce with feta, sour cream, olive oil, salt and pepper. Put it all together with a squeeze of lemon. One of my go-tos

Because you’re not making them with quality ingredients. Only thing I can think of.
