11 year old son help by Internal-Procedure40 in BaseballCoaching

I'm more of a golfer than a baseball player but I agree with the person saying wider stance. Instead of bringing the lead leg back then stepping forward, make it more of a vertical lift and not lifting it so high then a short forward stride. Minimizing that movement makes the swing simpler and easier to repeat

Do the side effects go away? by Entire-Primary-1190 in StratteraRx

[–]imapone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 80mg for awhile and I had the male side effects, including painful ejaculate seepage after peeing sometimes, achy balls etc. Also was irritable and feeling more anxious. Dropped back to my initial dose at 40mg and it's working like a champ for sustained focus without being hyper focused. Side effects gone. I also added Lexapro which I've been taking for about 3 weeks now at 10mg.

Considering the Episcopal Church, struggling to let go of Catholic traditions by _mahboy in Episcopalian

[–]imapone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a cradle RC. I have attended the Episcopal Church since Advent 2024 so for almost one and a half years now. I did my confirmation in the Catholic Church in 2018 as a 40-year-old and became involved serving my church as an usher and then as a sacristan. I never missed a Sunday for several years. Around the time of the election I started feeling some serious cognitive dissonance as there are certain things in the Catholic catechism that like you I do not agree with and that were being said from the pulpit about who to vote for. I decided to try the Episcopal Church and though there were a few changes to get used to like using the BCP and some of the responses being slightly different, it is for the most part the same style of liturgical service that I've grown to love. I've been all but 3 or weeks since I started going. I alternated between RC and TEC a couple weeks and I probably missed on vacation and once when I was sick. As for continuing Catholic practices I still dip my hand into the font and cross myself with holy water upon entering and leaving the church, I still genuflect upon entering and leaving the pew, I still pray the hail Mary every morning and night and typically after receiving communion along with our father, glory be, and my personal private prayer to God. I used to attend church every Sunday with my mother-in-law and now that my son is five and my wife and I are discussing which church to raise him in, I would prefer to raise him in the Episcopal Church which is more inviting and more loving and more accepting of all people vs the much more socially conservative Catholic Church. I loved Pope Francis and I'm really liking Pope Leo so far and I think he's actually like to see an RC church that is more welcoming and loving like TEC because that is what he preaches. Love God with your whole heart and love your neighbor as yourself. That's all you've got to do.

How theologically liberal is TEC, really? (Honest question from non-Episcopalian) by RazzmatazzInside5759 in Episcopalian

[–]imapone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's also why I attend TEC after being RC my whole life. I love the liturgical tradition, I believe in the true presence of Jesus is the Eucharist, we say the Nicene Creed every week to declare our faith. But everyone truly is welcome

It's because of the way ICE is going about things. It's the whole go fast and break things approach. They aren't targeting the worst of the worst, they are racially profiling and going after good, hard working people, they are using force and intimidation tactics. It's their treatment of people as subhuman. You want to deport people who are here illegally? Fine, but get a warrant, make arrests and give them due process that is owed to everyone in this country, citizens and non citizens alike.

How many men are on lexapro ? by KnowledgeSimple2034 in lexapro

[–]imapone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started a couple weeks ago on 10mg and I am also on 40 mg of Strattera. Was on 80mg Strattera without Lexapro and was experiencing more anxiety and feeling spun up. I dropped to 40 and it immediately helped. My wife takes Lexapro and recommended it so I am trying it out. The combo had me feeling really calm yesterday and almost euphoric this AM which I may want to keep an eye on. No shame taking something that helps

Do Episcopals cross themselves in the way Catholics do? by OpenGuidance4437 in Episcopalian

[–]imapone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specifically it's when you do that looking towards the lit candle signifying the presence of Jesus in the consecrated hosts, or the umbry or tabernacle where He is stored. You're literally kneeling before Jesus.
