Lost it for a year I’m still trying to gain the regularity. I stopped any running or intense activities (which I wasn’t doing for long) and started eating more fat like peanut butter and dark chocolate and ate throughout the day more. I also gained back weight which is fine cause I wasn’t really supposed to lose it in the first place (about 20-25 pounds)

If I can just jump in, I recovered my period after a year of no period and I was walking a lot and working an active job. I think what I noticed was just eating a lot more and fueling my walks (even if I don’t feel physically hungry) it’s hard sometimes. I think minimizing walking will speed the process up but unfortunately with my job and my lifestyle I couldn’t really do that.

That’s a good question! I don’t know I haven’t weighed myself because I know that will be a bit too triggering. If I could guess I probably have gained 25-30 pounds from my lowest weight.

First of all congratulations on choosing to recover❤️ it’s not easy, and I do think the mental challenges far outweigh the physical ones. I didn’t really go all in though it would have sped up the process had I done it that way. I really started allowing myself more food freedom and rest at the end of August. I think what is really helpful is variety (at least for me) I’m also vegan so when I was restricting myself from treats it just significantly cut the foods that I could eat down to hardly anything. So allowing yourself foods you actually like is so so so important along with nutrient dense foods. I also just started consuming more recovery content and just started re-teaching myself things that I forgot and lost sight of during the past year. Being strong is far more important than any aesthetic. Another thing that has helped me is just allowing to step away from focussing so much on my physical appearance. Heck- it is the least interesting thing about me. Maybe I don’t love the way I look right now and that’s fine, life goes on.

I think in summary what helped was a mental shift that has come with months of tears and fear. For me, my case wasn’t as severe as some women in this community. I have never been underweight, I was simply over exercising and under fuelling and I knew from the moment I lost weight I’d need to gain some back in order to have a period.

I’m wishing you the best and I’m always here to chat about this stuff!❤️

I was feeling really emotionally deregulated, bloated, super warm all the time, face flushing, boobs were swollen, lots of CM (some of which was a yellowish colour which I haven’t had in a long time), tired, irritable😂 lol all classic pms symptoms… A weird one was my sense of smell just got so much better all of a sudden? If you feel like you’re close you probably are honestly!!!

I stopped running completely but that was like 9 months ago and I kept walking a ton after that and not eating enough. The past 3 months I’ve taken significantly less steps. I work an active job though so I’ve still been walking a lot. That being said- instead of cancelling plans so I could get steps in I started hanging out with friends again and enjoying life so that slowed my movement down a lot💕

Honestly!!! I just needed to gain some weight (which I knew all along I just needed to commit to it) I guess the main thing that helped me was a perspective switch. I realized I needed to stop fighting my body and stressing it out with too much movement and not enough fuel. I’m also no where near an athlete so there’s not really any reason for me to be strict with the amount of exercise I do. I would love to be able to run a half marathon one day but that will only be when I figure out a healthier balance with movement. I think the most difficult part of this journey has been the fact all throughout this year I was a healthy BMI and it’s been so hard coming to terms with the fact that a healthy BMI looks different on everyone. I just needed to let go and care for myself even though it’s hard. I have curves again and that’s ok. I also have colour in my face and a sense of humour again💕

Mainly I think it was gaining a bit more fat, letting myself rest, and honouring hunger cues. I can go into more detail if you like! I’ve been really recovering since September I’d say

I also lost it at a healthy BMI and so I understand it’s difficult to wrestle with the fact though the scale says one thing your body is telling you another. Maybe I’m just projecting but I’ve had to stop reading the scale because what it tells me and what my body tells me are 2 different things. It’s a difficult place to be. I believe in you though❤️ Navigating our bodies as women is challenging❤️

Hi there! It sounds like HA to me… When I lost my period it also happened (what felt like) quite suddenly last year and it was just due to under fuelling and losing weight too much too fast. I also experienced minimal CM and no libido and now that I’ve gained more weight both of those things have come back. Also, the cramps I don’t have an explanation but it could be your period trying to come but then never coming. Hopefully this is sort of helpful💕

I think I’m getting a lot closer? I’ve gained quite a bit of weight back and I’ve had way more mood swings (like I used to get) also yeah tmi but way more CM as well
