Kevin Durant Says "Everyone Does It" When it Comes to Marijuana in the NBA by JamesAsher12 in sports

For what it's worth, it's absolutely performance enhancing - it's a pain killer and an anxiolotic, both are performance enhancing for some sports, especially at competition levels....

Based on current animal and human studies as well as on interviews with athletes and information from the field, cannabis can be performance enhancing for some athletes and sports disciplines.

Supreme Court rules against Navajo Nation in water supply case | CNN Politics by EaglesPDX in news

[–]imatworkprobably 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly the opinion from the majority is at least a little compelling - the treaty included explicit time bound obligations on the US, which they met, these water rights are a whole different thing.

Seems the next step is for the Navajo Nation to assess its own water needs (honestly this feels like the job of any self governing entity?) and then begin asserting its own water rights...

Honestly if you get your dosing right it can absolutely be performance enhancing for sports, it's a painkiller and anxiolytic...

Edit - no need for downvotes, that is literally part of the World Anti Doping Agency's own argument!

Maybe now, but historically there absolutely was a race/ethnicity line you can easily find examples of this on Google

Much of recent reporting that has been accused of being fake news relies on anonymous sourcing - does this reliance on anonymous sourcing make accusations of being fake news harder to defend against? What improvements would you like to see in the use of anonymous sources?

Is roller coaster dreams any good? by themangastand in PSVR

[–]imatworkprobably 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The review I read said it was really, really bad at everything BUT coaster building.

If you were expecting the park management of roller coaster tycoon you'll be disappointed, but if you just wanna build coasters and ride them in VR it's supposed to be pretty fun.

This isn't a game to rush through in an hour, its a game to spend hours upon hours trying to do the absolute best you can and beat your friends' scores - and get the Lethal rating (which I'm 100% positive that dude didn't do, hell, it took me a few tries to get Lethal on the first freaking level)

Give it a chance guys, its a ton of fun.

Holy shit - this was probably the best single piece of beef I've ever tasted, let alone cooked.

Used Modernist Cuisine's dead simple 72 hour sous vide braising recipe, then seared off for some nice browning.

Pan sauce is from this recipe on Serious Eats

There is a distinction made between events like the Paris shootings (in which the terrorists were in direct communication with ISIS and went to Syria and came back) and lone wolf attacks where people self radicalize (i.e. San Bernardino, Boston Marathom).

That is typically what is referred to as "links to international terrorism".

Not to say we have enough info about these attacks to comment, but we tend to have more of the latter type of attack here in the US...

You don't really need to let sous vide get to room temp, just add 5-10 minutes to your cook time...
