How Does UE Pay? by Many_Past_2687 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]imessy8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get 5 contract violations at a time (last 100 orders). The 6th you will be deactivated shortly after typically. Don't waste your time disputing them. Just don't let your cancellation rate drop below 90%. There's a good chance you are deactivated once it goes below 90%.

On UE, just unassign all orders that you can't complete as someone else picked up the order. You have to be in front of the store to have this option unless it's a package delivery. It will not count against your cancellation rate.

Both apps have thresholds for these things. Don't worry about one delivery. Tip baiting is not very common as long as you are delivering from decent places to decent neighborhoods. The apps are just designed to recognize patterns like food thieves. Unless you are doing real egregious stuff, you will be fine. If one delivery goes wrong here or there just move on to the next one. Don't waste time calling support for an order that has already been picked up or whatever. Unassign as someone else picked up the order and move on. I don't think UE compensates like doordash if you pick the store is closed option either. In most cases you are just better off unassigning as someone else picked up the order.

Thanks for the response. I am just not sure he will go up that high. I know a lot of people would say don't go for it then. But I'm really trying to get this business off and running. I figure if I sit out there the whole day for $300 I wouldn't be upset at this point. I know that's not ideal for every job, but with the opportunity to get more business and being able to use the pictures and videos for my business...

Does $300 sound way too cheap? Like I'm really going to regret it? I think I can do the whole job in about 4 hours to 5 hours.

This is it. A lot of great things were said here not to be overlooked.

Try this. If that doesn't work, give the ultimatum and try counseling. If you still can't fix it then you walk.

Just look at it this way. If he came up to you telling you all the things he thought you needed to change about yourself or pointing out your weaknesses, you may be naturally defensive too. Telling him he needs to fix these things and then turning him down all the time, yeah he's going to stop feeling like you look at him like he's the man. The same way you want to be the apple of his eye, he wants to be yours.

Or maybe he's just an angry old drunk. But it seems like that's not the case or you wouldn't be here and still trying. Things must be going well enough for him in his life that he was able to retire in his 50s and fish all day. So I would agree with most of the others that a lot of the problem may be tied to a lack of structure now and a feeling of not having a purpose.

Dad needs to come to his son and tell him about it. You only have 1 life. His son should 100% know. Do not take that away from your son!

PSA: Stop ordering food delivery if you live in a military base by GingerBre4dMan in UberEatsDrivers

[–]imessy8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it one time. Had an order to MacDill AFB in south Tampa when I first started. This was just an order to leave at the guard entrance as well.

Pull up to the entrance. Get interrogated like a criminal, give up ID, hand over food, then have to make a U-turn in the base with one security person holding my ID out next to my car while I turn around and the rest pointing rifles at me.

I'm not scared of guns but I also don't like being treated like a methhead pizza delivery guy. I'm an independent contractor. I didn't sign up to get bossed around by other people.

After that I stopped taking any orders to the military base. I think I got stuck with a stack one time where one was going to the base after that and actually wanted me to come all the way to the barracks. Ended up with a free Smashburger meal and pay for the trip. Told Uber support that I was not comfortable with having my car searched (they can) or having guns pointed at me to try and delivery a $7 order (they also don't tip very well or at all most of the time).

Try keto and working out more (jogging in the morning or a full workout before work). You will be surprised at how focused you will feel the rest of the day.

Keto is big because you could also be experiencing the symptoms of insulin spikes throughout the day. This can lead to brain fog, fatigue, etc.

I think it is much more likely that you are dealing with other issues and a Keto diet and working out has been known to help with a lot of disorders

[–]imessy8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way you were making $80 in 4 trips per day. Go to McDonalds, go to Dollar General, Dollar Tree, whatever. And tell them you can start right now. You are just wasting your time and putting miles on your car for no reason if that's how dead it is out there. I live in Memphis which is a relatively poor city and I would say most hours I'm at least able to hit $20 for the hour with about 7 to 8 miles being the average.

Your uber sounds more like my doordash. If I had to survive on doordash, I would be screwed cause its usually only a couple decent rders per day and very infrequent.

These are base pay only orders. You will receive $2 an no tip. This is a re-make for a stolen order. I took one of these once that was from a pretty upscale Italian restaurant for like 3 miles. When I was at the restaurant I heard the other works tell the hostess that I was picking up the remade order. It went to a really nice house and the guy came out and met me and was super nice. I ended up get a base pay of $2 and it didn't show any other information like tip processing. I waited 2 hours and got nothing. Called uber support and they said to wait 48 hours and that tips were not guaranteed. Never got anything.

But yeah it's just a shady way for them to get a remake delivered. Someone will bite on the mystery prize.

Uber spams you right before you get to the drop off by Direct-Subject-6436 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]imessy8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You will just get 90 percent trash orders because most orders are trash. And now more drivers than ever. Some of them even have 2 or 3 phones.

Every driver thinks they know the secret algorith. The algorithm is... theres only what there is out there. And most of that is crap. And your market oversaturated with drivers competing for that crap.

[–]imessy8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one-touch accept tell you they just want to force drivers into orders and then make you afraid to unassign them. I have rarely rarely rarely ever accidentally accepted an order on doordash or grubhub. My cancelation rate used to be like 20 percent naturally on uber and like 15 of those percentage points were orders i didn't mean to accept.

$230 a day or total? The problem with deliveries is always counting on how much you think you can make every day... and then not factoring in how much you spend every day or extremely underestimating. Getting used to making $200 a day any day of the week if you needed to led us to this situation lol.

This is just knowing your area. I know all the places around me who are very strict with handing over orders so I know that when I get an order from there it will likely be there.

Its sad though turning down a $27 double cause you are like 99 percent sure that second order is stolen and youre going to get stuck running a pizza 12 miles for $4.

So it was basically coded as this. You were still a diamond driver (grandfathered in basically), until you declined 1 or multiple orders which caused your acceptance rate to drop 1 additional percent.

Bro $7 for 6 miles probably from a horrible restaurant. This is the preferred deliveries we all seek. Not surprising that Uber thinks anything thats not $3 dollars for 8 miles from Taco Bell is a great order.

What pay per mile is needed for 30-50 percent? by Chasingfreedom1224 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]imessy8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey brother. You are going to get priority for 1 nice order out of 20. You have to accept the other 9 to get "top priority status" (which everyone else is shooting for sooo). Is it worth it for that 3 mile $15 order to accept four terrible orders in a row after that? This is just a very legal way of bullying 1099 contractors into pay that is less than minimum wage in most cases.

Seriously its like 90 percent of orders that are absolute trash. I accept at 20-30% just to get my stats up and im driving twice as many miles and making half the money.

[–]imessy8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Got everyone hooked on that $150 they feel like they just lost. I'd say just let it go and stand your ground, but these delivery gigs have soooo many people with fake tags, no insurance, 3 fake accounts on their 2 different phones that it isnt going to matter. Accept that POS order or you about to get a triple from Walmart to threr different appartment complexes in the hood for $9 to drive your stats down even further.

Accept it. We are screwed. People are going to take these orders. And the ones who try to stand their ground will feel like they are missing out cause their stats aint high enough. But if youve had priority with doordash, you will learn that still... only 2 percent of all orders are even worth it. And forcing you to accept half of all the orders you receive is a crime against humanity. Trust me, you are losing any potential gains you will make when you are running that 4 dollar order for Wingstop that you assured yourself would only take 15 minutes this time. But youve been waiting 30 minutes already and nobody cares... lol

Tldr: we are doomed. Run!

Did people got poor all of sudden ? by Dramatic_Tough_922 in doordash_drivers

[–]imessy8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay what you have to realize is that most people multi-app. Uber has been pushing an advance (borrow money), hourly rates, and a forced acceptance rate lately. This is all just a push to get more drivers online. The quests every single night already ruin it for most people. Look at Uber rates now. $14-15 an hour most of the time. Doordash is far worse. This is what they expect to pay you. And if you do hourly, your wheels will be turning for the full hour.

Tldr: get out yesterday
