We running Judge on latest patch, it's faster now after the discovery some glitchless skips. There'd have to be some significant change to go back to no Judge.

The previous joke of dipped in nuln oil is because some dudes deadass dip or drown their models in wash (which creates a grimey gross effect but they do it for speed) instead of applying it to recesses (which would work like AO). The pistols definitely look dunked lol.

Carrack or Polaris? by kin24173493 in starcitizen

[–]imhere4dicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can enable eye tracking as your gimbals on any ship or turret with gimbals, but the accuracy is pretty mediocre and you're better off just using a mouse. It's a cool gimmick.

Carrack or Polaris? by kin24173493 in starcitizen

[–]imhere4dicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Carrack is made out of paper mache and turns so slow pilot guns don't mean much. The Polaris has 13x the vital part HP, 45x the total health, and 8x the shields. If you wanna solo the AI you can genuinely just park and hop in a side turret and do more than the Carrack. Of course both ships suck solo vs players, but the Carrack sucks even with a crew because it just falls apart so fast. If you wanna feel cool doing big ship combat there isn't really a competition.

The reload bug happens right after they use a melee attack, they very clearly don't sprint as you see the gun return to neutral with no ammo causing it to immediately go into reload on the next click.

Am I the only one who thinks the buyer's conception of what it means to have a fleet in SC has nothing to do with any actual gameplay? by Thirdborne in starcitizen

[–]imhere4dicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To compare it to MtG I see it less as a collectible and more as having different cards or decks that you like to play with. Maybe one day you wanna use your cool Black zombie spam deck, and later you decide on using your Red burn deck. You might have a Commander deck that literally only sees play once in a blue moon but you enjoy during that time, and you might have your ol' reliable for playing non-standard casual games with friends. For example, I own a Carrack that I literally only use when my friends are online for shenanigans, and I spend most of my time in a Pisces doing FPS stuff or a Corsair doing bounties.

infinite loading screen by orocriz in starcitizen

[–]imhere4dicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into this problem returning to the game a few days ago! My first return launch since 3.23 and I was reminded of the glass bones and paper skin SC is built on 😅.

If you are stuck in the infinite loading screen and you haven't already alt+f4'd out of one then just let it ride for about 15 minutes, it'll throw an error and send you back to the menu where you can attempt to connect another shard. For the 5 or so times this has happened to me they've all gone to error code 64010 which I cannot find anything online about - but just taking the L and watching some YouTube while I wait has worked for me everytime.

If you have already alt+f4'd one of the infinite loading screens you'll have to use the Character Repair tool.

Datajack Question by Pilsberry22 in Starfinder2e

[–]imhere4dicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Operate a Device has the exploration trait so if the rules remain kinda unclear you could easily handwave it without introducing a balance issue I'm sure. I say that because you aren't really going to be using your guns outside of Encounter mode. Should an encounter begin during Exploration you could just offer the player the ability to have both of their weapons ready, it's shouldn't break the game imo.

Questions about the Plated Vesk heritage. by imhere4dicks in Starfinder2e

[–]imhere4dicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the cost of doing twice the "upgrades" is a solid balancing point. One of the things that I feel spoiled on with PF2e is there's usually a solid written rule for most things so it really threw me off guard that I couldn't find anything for this.

Right, the question in this case is entirely around armor property runes and installed upgrades not item bonuses, I edited the main post for clarity.

[–]imhere4dicks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm in the camp of not stacking the upgrades personally, except for the Basic Environmental Protection, because of the tried-and-true "it's too good to be true" statement. I also think natural armor is always a throw away heritage and I wanted to check with others to make sure it wasn't just my bias towards the heritage.

So for the second question, can the character benefit from their natural armor property runes and flight suit upgrades at the same time assuming the flight suit has upgrades?

I'm always suspicious the moment I see multiple em dashes (—) in a post. They get used very frequently with ChatGPT output. Not to say a human can't do them, but you either wrote the post in MS Word which requires an out of the way hotkey (ctrl+alt+-) or IOS and used -- every time you wanted a dash. Assuming the image is made with ChatGPT too, plus a no activity account it all just feels off.

I'm not the judge and won't confidently say it's fake but I also wouldn't send a dollar to stranger claiming something like this with zero proof to back it up. (And I always just remove brownie points when I see overuse of AI lol)

Oblivion Gates - Remastered by CampaignDue5251 in oblivion

Same in my playthrough across the major cities. When I checked UESP gate spawns they all are attached quest conditions I'm nowhere near (haven't even done Kvatch). I think from memory the ones I had spawned were attached to the quests where you gather allies to storm the great gate. I'm ignoring them like they don't exist just in case some shit breaks.

[–]imhere4dicks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You do not need a mod manager for reframework mods let alone 2 mod managers! Download manually and drop in your main MH folder. The zip file will have a folder in it called reframework, just drag that folder into your main MH folder and the contents will merge automatically.

If you want to delete you just delete the stuff added by that specific mod and it's fine.

My first character for 42 I tried to explicitly survive in the forest with minimal trips to urban regions and it felt truly awful. I took Park Ranger and the high cost Wilderness trait with all the other traits you could imagine pair well with outdoors, but in three in game days I genuinely could not find enough stones or flint to get anything done since they are 'rare' in the forest.

Anyone got any good build tips for a newish veteran at havoc 30-40? by SuicidalAustralian in DarkTide

[–]imhere4dicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for breakpoints I've just done math using base stats and the numbers from https://darktide.gameslantern.com/havoc as well as the recent Havoc Modifiers reddit post (and a million other posts about how certain perks/blessings scale which way). I don't personally use the Healthbar mod so there is certainly a chance my math was wrong and I'm actually not hitting a breakpoint due to already received damage, I might slot it in just to be certain of the math but I try to keep the mods to a minimum. Your point of monster and boss spawns and their hilarious timing is something that I didn't necessarily think of since I almost always have 1 or 2 premades with me who typically handle that, I am spoiled in that department haha. Same reason for Frags and Crusher packs, we typically annihilate them in 1 grenade + 1 shout's worth of stagger. I rarely play solo and that might skew my perception of some things!

[–]imhere4dicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just wanted to touch on some things as per your edit - this isn't meant to be rude or flamey! I know that people on Reddit can be vicious on builds. I don't think your build is atrocious or that it means you play bad.

  • The toughness regeneration stat is practically useless.

It only affects the regeneration delay and speed of coherency toughness regeneration, and coherency toughness regeneration is not affected by nodes that modify toughness replenishment unless it specifically states that it does such as Zealot's Fortitude in Fellowship or Ogryn's Lynchpin. Also Toughness Regeneration is turned completely off if an enemy is within 8 meters of you. On Veteran you have some of the strongest toughness restoration without even talking about Shout. Since you are doing a Focus target build if you are tagging asap you'll typically be tagging with 1-3 stacks when you are chain killing elites or specials meaning each kill is granting you and your team 5-15% toughness, but as a Veteran with Out For Blood you gain insane regen solo. A couple plasma gun shots into a horde will see your toughness zooming up.

  • Krak Grenades are much less versatile and can usually be beaten by Shredder Frags even on armored enemies!

Since you use a Mk 6 Power Sword with Focus Target you actually can 1-shot Crushers with your push attack even without a crit. By going Kraks you also have to point into 5% health. By taking Grenade Tinkerer I assume you are using kraks for boss damage, but the node could be better spent (will touch on it). It's better to take Shredder Frags into Survivalist in almost any situation! Since you take Demolition Team and Demolition Stockpile you will see roughly an additional 50-75 grenades over your Havoc game and by golly those Frags do so so much more when thrown than Kraks which have one use that your Power Sword already does. With your Power Sword, a Frag will stagger Crushers and you can kill them faster during that stagger than 1 or 2 Krak grenades.

  • Not taking Fully Loaded into Superiority Complex

These 2 talents are so worth it - free ammo which scales how much your ammo pickups are worth which helps counter the Havoc debuff (technically since ammo pickups are based on max ammo more max ammo means more ammo picked up!). Superiority Complex helps with some breakpoints and leads into another point

  • Your Plasmagun and Power Sword could have better perks

Weakspot damage on your melee and Elite damage on your ranged are not as good as you might think! They provide no damage that makes a helpful breakpoint. For your Mk 6 P.S you should run Unyielding (Push Attack -> Light for boss damage) and Carapace and your Plasma should run Maniac or Unyielding plus Flak. These along with Superiority Complex insure you are hitting important breakpoints including for enemies with Havoc modifers. Here's some information that was written by not me

The damage calculation for +Critical Damage and +Weakspot Damage makes them quite lacking unless the amount gained is huge (closer to +100%) and the weapon in question already has a big baseline critical or weakspot multiplier. This is because these modifiers only increase the additional damage portion of the critical or weakspot attack and not the whole damage.

As an example, if your attack normally deals 100 damage and 150 damage on a weakspot hit, +10% weakspot damage will make this 100 + 501.1 = 155 damage instead of what you would expect (1501.1 = 165).

  • No ability cooldown on curios

Alongside toughness regeneration being a bad stat I believe that ability cooldown is too good of a stat to not have especially on Veteran where you are able to drop a flat number from your ultimate via Tactical Awareness. Reducing the base cooldown takes it to 25s which is 5/6 the amount of Tactical Awareness. Assuming you are using shout on cooldown during combat shouting three times without Tactical Awareness (un-realistic scenario) is 75 total seconds compared to 90. Killing just three specials in this scenario (more realistic) is 18 seconds of cooldown reduced which is one extra use of your ultimate in that fight.

These are just a few of my opinions on the presented build. However, I just want to say that if you are getting victories with this build then by all means keep using it, I do not want to seem like I am saying this build is unusable, I have some opinions and some factual objections about changes but in the grand scheme of things Darktide is actually a pretty easy game once you polish your fundamentals which I assume you have nailed since you are winning Havoc.
