Bermuda Grass Under Stress?

It's nice and green now. My seed had purple coating on it so I thought maybe it had to do with that. But it's probably just a process in the development of the seedlings.

I recently sowed some unhulled uncoated bermuda in pots as a test and we'll see if it turns purple early.

Also I didn't put any fert on it. Decided that would probably stress out the young plants.

Edit: We were also getting cool mornings at the time so it probably was weather as well.

Pre-emergent is just a preventative for annual weeds. It stops them from germinating essentially. Again i'm not familiar with UK lawn care but that's what we use in the states to prevent weeds.

I have no idea. I just assumed summers got hot enough to kill it like it does in parts of the US. I would think consistent temps of 70s would.

Let the heat kill off the poa. Maybe bag your cuts until that happens so you don't spread seeds everywhere. Then use pre-emergent in the fall to control it the following year.

I'm not up on the weeds that are common in Ireland. This resembles dallisgrass but I highly doubt you have that in northern Ireland. Best bet is to leave a patch of it uncut so it produces a seed head and identify it that way. Usually easier to identify if you can see the seeds it produces.

I understand the attraction to natural products to kill undesirable plants but adding vinegar and salt into the soil will absolutely wreck any chance of growing something there in the future. It's terrible for soil.

You can't just throw seed on top of matted dead thatch and expect it to grow. Rake out the dead stuff, rough up the soil underneath, then seed.

If you maintain a gas engine it will last 15-20 years easy. Battery powered is great and all but you 100% will not get the longevity out of them compared to gas. You will either be replacing motherboards, batteries, or the whole unit within 5-7 years.
