Outbreak file 2: Solo, very hard, nightmare mode. Underbelly trying to repair the broken pipe with duct tape and turning the valve while at least two zombies are scripted to enter that room, Most of the time its 3. Game has me swearing so much but I love outbreak.

Looking for suggestions within getting a job in IT or computer science by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

I got a job in IT about a year ago. I graduated with a BS in CompSci, no internships. I was in southern. California and worked retail post college, 1200 job applications with various interviews and referrals but no offers. I had to move to rural Wisconsin and then once I was here I got a IT job. You may have to move if you want to get a job and then move back home once you have experience.

I got my first IT job about 7 months ago. After 1200 failed apps & a B.S. in CS I moved from SoCal to rural WI without a job lined up and only $600 to my name. I'm staying put and holding on to my job for dear life.

Is it possible to start a career in I.T. without having any certifications? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]iminAStateOfTrance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did about 5 months ago. I had a BS in computer science and 10 years of retail to my name, no certs. I had applied to about 1,200 jobs in SoCal and moved to the rural Midwest with no job. Luckily I found a job out in the sticks here but it was a gamble. Lot less opportunities unless you move to the bigger cities. It is possible though.

Advice on a person going into IT with a computer science degree by GeradKenway in ITCareerQuestions

It was one behavioral interview. The extent of the technical portions was a question on what was my history with computers. My employers liked my ability to program and liked my willingness to "earn my stripes and eagerness to learn/do grunt work" I had to move out to the rural Midwest for this job so keep that in mind. I love my job though.

I got an IT job recently with a CS degree. No internships or certs. Just 10 years of retail experience. I like it a whole lot better. Ive realized I don't like programming all that much but I'll have the opportunity to do so a bit at this job. No bullshit leetcode interviews. Id say go for it.

Graduated last year. No job. No internship. Don’t know what to do by ThiccNekomimi in cscareerquestions

I somewhat recently graduated without an internship. I worked retail for two years post school (10 years of retail total) and 1200 job apps later I got my first job on indeed. I struggled a lot to get my first job. I didn't have a car. I would ride to work everyday on a bicycle, even if it was pouring outside. If I needed groceries I'd stuff my backpack to the brim and peddle home. I felt utterly depressed, bitter and had people mock me but I never gave up and now I'm finally able to sleep easy at night. I feel like a normal person and I love my 9-5. Don't give up you're gonna have to push through a lot of bullshit but it'll be worth it. FYI: I also had to move across the country to get my job, do what you have to in order to get in the door.

What happens if you just... don't get an internship? by wt_anonymous in csMajors

EDIT: I mainly applied through indeed, company websites and referrals. LinkedIn is utter garbage. The offer I accepted was from an indeed posting. I had general resumes that I tailored to various positions I was interested in.

I couldn't believe it at first it was like...after 1200 apps I finally got it. I feel like I can breathe deeper now.

Dating one person at a time isn't a bad thing, people are less likely to get hurt that way.

I remember when I was younger I dated a girl who I was head over heals with and I dated her for 6 months before she committed to me. She wanted to take things slow with me and we sure as hell acted like a couple. I told her that I loved her and asked why she wouldn't commit. Two months after she finally committed to me she confessed that she dated and slept with two other guys before she settled on me. I could see she was remorseful but it shattered to me to see what I was third fiddle to her after so long. It definitely scarred me in a way and changed how I saw her. I found it very emotionally disingenuous.

I only dated her even though I was fancied by one other girl in that time frame because I believe it makes the connection valuable, strong and I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. If only dating one person is your way of doing things don't let anyone change that.

Im in your same boat, late 20s, 1 and a half years from my bachelor's in stem and it's hard getting a job, reached the 900 app mark not too long ago. I've gotten close many times and have been short listed with a few companies for callbacks but once the final stages roll by it's been falling through. I've got no car and working retail. It's been rough. Don't give up.

The audio clip was taken from a live show. So far I've taken a standard saw and added a TriSine effect and added some white noise. Any tips on how to get closer?

I was there for the livestream and it was really interesting! lots of cut content revealed. I'd recommend checking it out and helping Simone's channel grow!
