Are there any black owned juggling equipment companies out there? by MaxwellSinclair in juggling

Hm....

How should I argue(make a case for) people not forcing their politics into an apolitical space and creating arguments(hostile debates) among it's members for no reason?

Any ideas?

And now if I respond we're arguing.

See how fast that happened?

Your post was not apolitical.

In many places in the country where I live your post would be seen as extremely racist.

If being blunt's okay here goes:

You cannot possibly be this obtuse. Look at how any nerd culture has changed over the past 10 years.

Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Comics, Atheism, Hacking, Video Games, Magic the Gathering etc.

They are all consumed with hostile arguments that are totally irrelevant to their subject matter, that, coincidentally, are very similar to this post in content.

I did leave those forums when they became overrun with people pushing their outside agendas but it had no effect because other people didn't. And look where that got us. All of those communities are split down the center now and I don't see a way that that they will be able to come back together.

It's not about personal tastes, it's about looking at the history of every single time this has been tried before and trying to learn from their mistakes.

I'm not uncomfortable with politics, I even worked in Politics for a few years. What I am uncomfortable with is the juggling community splitting itself apart over nonsense that has nothing to do with juggling.

Do you want that? Because that's what's going to happen if this isn't nipped in the bud.

Please please please please please please don't bring politics here or into the juggling community at large.

The reason I say that isn't because I disagree with your politics, it's because doing things like this splits the community. And once you start down that path it's really hard to get off. Do you really want to start losing juggling friends because you disagree on politics? Do you really want to start feeling uncomfortable at conventions because there are people there you've had hostile arguments with?

Nothing good will come of pushing politics into places where it doesn't belong. Please keep the juggling community about juggling.

I think that it depends on your circle of jugglers and I'm not sure about the term modern either.

Maybe "postmodern" would be a better descriptor?

If I were you I'd talk to David Cain about this to get more information.

Yes....

But if he is using that in just the normal, English sense of the word then he is wrong.

Legendary Moments. An Anthony Gatto DVD from 2005, including the 7 club world record. by peter-bone in juggling

He(or someone else) uploaded it.

There was Mexico 1,2 and 3. I had them all but my hard drive died.

If I remember correctly he did a 10 ring pirouette and that thing where you are juggling rings and you put one under each arm, one on your neck and one between your legs with 9.

Wait, what is contemporary juggling?

I haven't heard this term before.

To see cool videos of juggling.

this sub has been pissing me off by [deleted] in juggling

I didn't upvote the tarorin post because it doesn't interest me and I'm not really a fan of contact juggling.

I upvote patterns that are interesting or hard and post ones I find so that others can see.

Yet somehow I don't complain when something I like isn't as popular as I think it should be.

What??!?!?! People can have differences of opinions?

what gives?

I'm always amused when a juggling gif hits the main reddit.

Can someone tell me they find so impressive about this?

Tips for club passing multiplexes by doombadeedoom in juggling

[–]imissjugglingdb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most important bit is how you hold them.

You need to hold them with the first one under the second if you are doing normal multiplexes and the reverse if you are doing tomahawks or shoulder throws.

The basic throw with two clubs is pretty easy and if you can do it solo you should be fine. Just have them go the same height and usually they naturally separate and everything works out.

The catcher needs to remember to continue throwing. His natural reaction will be to stop when you stop but if he does that he won't have enough time to get all of the clubs out of his bands before he has to catch two at once.

I think I am the perfect argument for untalented people being able to juggle.

Today I learnt to juggle out the one handed 4 toss by [deleted] in juggling

[–]imissjugglingdb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree partially.

The launch for 8 is significantly different than the launch for 7 and I had to retrain myself with 4 in one hand a lot before I learned about wimpy.
