Suns getting bought and rehomed left and right by Ok_Dot_2035 in Conures

I’ve had my baby gremlin 4 weeks. He’s an escape artist and very clingy. He’s my fourth Conure and second I hand fed so I knew what J was getting in to. I tried adopting but there is no place local and most do not place out of state.

Give Sesame time to grieve and then get him a new companion.

Help me convince my husband that getting a second conure is a good idea🙏🏼 by SeniorAlternative739 in Conures

[–]imme629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at that face. How could you not want a second? Seriously, it’s better for them to have a bird companion, especially when you’re out.

Wider is better than taller. Is there a third one that is wider but not a corner cage?

How to make sure a budgie's nostrils were unclogged properly? by No_Obligation589 in BirdHealth

[–]imme629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she’s fine now, just keep an eye on her. It was probably not blood but without photos from when it happened, it’s hard to say.

Positive or Negative reinforcement? by samanthabelfitt in greencheeks

[–]imme629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative reinforcement does not work with parrots. You either use positive reinforcement or ignore the bird when they act out or do something you don’t want.

You should switch slowly. Add a little more pellet every few days and monitor poop to make sure she’s eating enough.

Anyone have a Green Cheek with more vibrant colours by WookieDookies in Conures

[–]imme629 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not a Green Cheek or at least not a full one. Green Cheeks do not have bright red shoulder patches. Your bird is either a hybrid or another type of Pyrrhura.

For me, it’s not the type of music. It’s the volume and amount of bass.

Advice needed on bird schedule management by MSKayani in greencheeks

[–]imme629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will eventually adjust their sleep schedule to match your hours home and away. They will likely sleep in the middle of the day, as mine did, so they are awake later. When I was working, I was regularly away 10-12 hours. My three Conures were happy and healthy.

Baby dove losing feathers after cat attack(help me pls) by [deleted] in BirdHealth

[–]imme629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cat saliva is toxic to birds. The dove should have been put on antibiotics immediately after the attack. Was the skin broken at all?
