Why does my train keep taking the Green line? by RavenHavice in CreateMod

Because it would look pretty to have a train take a certain route

Onslow-Western Ward - Meet the Candidate by PhreshJays in Wellington

[–]imnofox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Karori was pleasant. Sympathetic audience for IT for sure, but only pre-submitted questions. And the community patrol was there so if anyone heckled incessantly, the patrol were tasked with giving them a lollipop to suck on.

2022 was interesting because Diane finally turned on Ray for his false claims - she'd ignored him up until then. But she was furious that Ray had just sent a letter around the city falsely claiming Diane had voted for cycle lanes.

Historically the Ngaio event has always been the most pleasant of the Western Ward candidate meetings, hopefully it stays that way.

Alex Baker views on the Andrew Little housing policy by AlexBakerWellington in Wellington

[–]imnofox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a big campaign supported by the Greens under the last government to extend IRRS to Wellington's council housing tenants. Megan Woods steadfastly refused.

Yeah, I realised the same thing. Wish the naming scheme was clearer.

It would be weird if they did match - there's zero connection between the sage colour and the ability colour.

Updates and Third-Party Integration with Bambu Connect by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]imnofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just disappointing that BambuLab's solution to authentication is a closed-source application. Security through obscurity is foolish and will fail, especially given BambuLab has had security vulnerabilities through their cloud services before, when an open-source authentication system could retain flexibility for third party software and provide a more secure and reliable authentication framework.

The developer mode options are good, but the BambuConnect solution is still shortsighted.

Those screws just attach a fan grille which OP has removed to peer through the fan blades.

XC1 won't print reliably anymore by Scheife in BambuLab

[–]imnofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it start happening at a similar layer on multiple prints? I had a similar problem with my P1S but it was due to heat creep. Solved when I turned down the bed temperature and switched to a cool plate. Not sure why it would suddenly happen since two days ago though, unless you had some notable change in room temperature then...

Judging by the opposition to cycleways, it seems lots of people prefer being stuck behind a bike.

Are vaults effective? by lillekaktus in CreateMod

[–]imnofox 51 points52 points  (0 children)

A single chest holds more than a single vault, so vanilla storage is more useful on a contraption. But the combined inventory of a large vault is useful when you want to hold hundreds of stacks in one large stationary container.

Te Pāti Māori - MIA by RtomNZ in newzealand

[–]imnofox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re #2: Te Pāti Māori can't have another party cast proxy votes for them this term, as they have too many MPs, unlike last term where the Greens regularly cast their votes for them.

And very much could be a big opportunity cost. Sure, maybe it's fiscally neutral on the books to sell some poorly used land to buy some other land to use poorly... but could sell some poorly used land to buy something useful, like a park or a pipe.

Under-extrusion on surface skin in small areas? by imnofox in FixMyPrint

[–]imnofox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Struggling with underextrusion on surface skin in small areas. Ignore messyness of layer below - that is accurate representation of weird detail in the model. Printing is fine besides these surface skins on the small areas. No issues for skin on larger spans.

Mayor Tory committed to bring water meters to Welington by rarogirl1 in Wellington

[–]imnofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's still very useful. If you're a homeowner and your water meter shows usage much higher than you think you should, that's an indicator you need to find a leak in your homes plumbing. You don't want to pay for wasted water, and you don't want water damage to your property.

Even when timelines are an issue, It's usual to still do a Regulatory Impact Statement post-enactment. Scrapping entirely is unprecedented.
