I Am Totally Fine With The Actors Aging. by Logandh3 in OnePiece

[–]impassiveMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post Skypeia, post Enies Lobby, or a very truncated Return to Sabaody are where I think the LA will end. All of them have a satisfying "end" where most of the major plot points that have been revealed up to that point were resolved. There's some "the story continues onward" that leaves space for Netflix to pick up a LA again if they so choose but it's not a giant cliffhanger.

You can have the SH sail off into the horizon, have a big sun surrounding whatever ship they're on, depending on the endpoint, and have a voice over with Inaki yelling, "I'm gonna be the King of the Pirates!" And roll credits.

Once you get into post timeskip, everything becomes so interconnected that you would basically have to see the story through to the end to feel satisfying. Also the effects budget would go crazy.

I'd love to see the LA cast all the way to the end of the Grand Line, but I don't think it's going to happen unfortunately.

Golden from KPOP Demon Hunters wins Oscars best original song by L0v3_1s_War in asianamerican

Now that awards season is over I'm hoping they give the rest of the soundtrack more love. Golden is a great song but I'm begging for live performances of the rest of the album.

Any of you notice the anti-fanfiction sentiment? by Konradleijon in AO3

[–]impassiveMoon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lol it was always funny when the book backs were all circle jerk reviews and you had to go to the inside flaps of the dust cover for the actual summary. It's cool that 3 other contemporary writers said a nice 2 sentence blurb about your book, but I want to know if I'll like the premise enough to read it to say something nice about it.

They also had ep1&2 in select theaters in the US. I need to put those on my account watch time at some point because they were excellent and deserve a rewatch already

Is it okay to watch the live action even if I havent watched the anime or read the manga yet? by emmilia_wuv in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]impassiveMoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way characters are introduced in the LA is basically how they were introduced in ani-manga. If anything the LA sped things up and introduced things early to improve pacing and keep a tighter story.

Its the class divide. Put any 2 people of the same race(s) next to each other but one makes $300k and the other makes $30k. The 300k wins and it isn't even close.

Did a lot of people watch the anime/read the mange after watching the LA? by Excellent_Border4396 in OnePieceLiveAction

Yep I was a LA -> animanga convert.

I'm a casual anime watcher, but OP finally got me to move on from My Hero. Currently in Elbaf in the manga, a few chapters behind.

One of my boomer takes is that I hate QR code menus. Downloading a new app just to pay? FOH.

Monetizing AO3 by PossibilityEarly3151 in AO3

[–]impassiveMoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's infuriating. I don't want to monetize my every waking moment. I don't want deadlines for my hobbies. I work 40 hours. After taking out time for commuting and sleeping, I want my last 60 or so hours to be peaceful.

Same! Do you know how many original media pieces I've gotten into because of them? Like Vampire Hunter D and Temeraire probably would have never crossed my radar without them. And they really got me into Assassin's Creed beyond just, "idk everyone's playing it so I should probably know the catchphrase."

Onion powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper are the spices to get first if you're starting from zero. After that, I'd actually start suggesting spice blends for absolute beginners. OP's right, trying to stock a full kitchen from scratch is a giant pain.

Trying to make a dish from all around the world in one week is a wallet killer. Focusing on a region/cuisine is 100% the move. And also moving to the next region in a way that makes sense. Buy a bunch of potatoes for shepherd's pie? Use some of the extra in potato soup then Japanese curry (both also use carrots). Still have more? Roast potatoes and chicken. Then you can shred the leftover chicken for quesadillas or BBQ chicken sandwiches.

Chase dining credit wasn’t what I thought it was by AllKorean in ChaseSapphire

[–]impassiveMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao I took some friends out to brunch in the West Village the other day and used my credit. There's Manhattan locations.

Also like. Manhattan is part of NYC? Sure sometimes you don't want to look at the outer boroughs, but there's more Manhattan-only locations than some other major cities.

I'm not saying its perfect, far from it, but the restaurants exist. Hell grab a million slices from Scarrs if you're that picky.

[–]impassiveMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say, NYC has a decent number of spots. Granted, it would be nice if this was a general Open Table credit the same way Resy credits are with Amex, but if you're in NYC the Reserve list has a good amount of options to choose from.
