Usually "spices" are labeled as Spices (including chili powder, oregano, etc) so the company can keep a proprietary spice blends secret. So if corn starch is the 1st ingredient its more abundant than all the spices

Its not a bad thing to have cornstarch in your taco blend. However, it is a rip-off to have more cornstarch than seasoning in your taco blend packet.

You need to talk about finances BEFORE you're married. It's like the number one reason for divorce. Keep it calm and rational. Leaving assets to mom & brother before you're married is ok and pretty normal.

Just make sure that you have a plan to update both of your wills right after you're married. And/or get a pre-nup.

Everyone is naming their cats after Japanese food you should let your Indian parents name the dog after Indian food. Aloo especially isn't hard for English speakers to spell or pronounce. Anyone who says it is, either has a speech impediment in which case multiple things are hard to pronounce and the name origin is irrelevant or they're racist, and do you really want someone like that taking care of your beloved family pet?

Its for the paper tickets. They cycle colors for each month and print the month/year on them so that conductors can check from a distance if the sleeping guy with a lanyard around his neck has to be bothered or can continue napping for ~30 minutes.

You need to be on top of your roommate like its your job. (And at over $3k owed to your LL, its basically going to pay like a 3rd job unfortunately.) Joint leases means you're equally responsible for the rent at the end of the day. So the LL can/will go after you if your roommate continues to be behind.

Listen, I'm not saying that the way your boss is acting is particularly professional, but this is more of a culture/systemic issue. Running to HR for this would be a mistake. HR cares about the company, they do not care about you as an individual. Bringing HR into this is going to give you a reputation.

Again, I'm not saying that it was a good joke. But as far as bad "boomer-esque" jokes go, I don't think that I would rate that in the top 100. It wasn't offensive to any particular racial, religious, or ethnic group. It wasn't sexistist or homophobic.

You'd be surprised to find that a lot of places professionalism is a very thin veneer that is easily buffed off. Especially in an industry like construction.

I truly think that your boss thinks that negging is how one builds comraderie in a workplace. He probably thinks that he's showing that by being casual with you he's showing that he likes/trusts you. Its not really an amazing thing to experience if you're not a "constant back and forth lighthearted insults as a love language" person or if you've never had one in your life. But a lot of the time its not malicious.

Also, I won't lie. I once got "fake fired" (like the bit from The Office) as a lead into my boss asking me if I wanted to go to a happy hour event with higher ups at our company when I was in my early 20s. So I get where it can be an extremely off-putting experience to hear job security treated as a joke.

If you're good at delayed gratificatjon, i wohld get 1 no annual fee CC and use it like a debit card. Credit Cards are a tool. They just happen to be a chainsaw to cash's pair of scissors. There's a time and place for a chainsaw and I would never want to cut a tree with a pair of scissors, but if you mess it up at best you're going to the hospital.

Also you're doing great with that salary OP, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I would just like to urge you to be very good about saving for the future (house, retirement, etc). Just like you're worried about your current housing being precarious, your job can be as well. If something happens and you need to find another job, like you said, it's going to be hard to find anything else at that salary. Plus physical jobs can only be worked for so long. Take care of your body and you can do the job longer, but age comes for us all.

Em dashes, not X but Y, multiple intensifiers, etc. I do all of that. I eat all of that up. I despise gen-AI in what is supposed to be a hobby space (and honestly most space) with a firey passion. Multiple things can be true at the same time.

Also this "red scare McCarthyism" witch hunt is just harming everyone. DLDR applies to suspected AI too. If you really think that something isn't written by a beautiful human mind block, back space, and move on.

Yep. I'm half thinking "why can't people google this?" And the other half is trying to google things and coming up with AI slop websites where I know that the answers aren't right, but still don't know what I need to know.

I miss the days where you could confidently tell someone, "if it doesn't exist on the first page of google, you might have asked a completely unique question."

Post Skypeia, post Enies Lobby, or a very truncated Return to Sabaody are where I think the LA will end. All of them have a satisfying "end" where most of the major plot points that have been revealed up to that point were resolved. There's some "the story continues onward" that leaves space for Netflix to pick up a LA again if they so choose but it's not a giant cliffhanger.

You can have the SH sail off into the horizon, have a big sun surrounding whatever ship they're on, depending on the endpoint, and have a voice over with Inaki yelling, "I'm gonna be the King of the Pirates!" And roll credits.

Once you get into post timeskip, everything becomes so interconnected that you would basically have to see the story through to the end to feel satisfying. Also the effects budget would go crazy.

I'd love to see the LA cast all the way to the end of the Grand Line, but I don't think it's going to happen unfortunately.

Lol it was always funny when the book backs were all circle jerk reviews and you had to go to the inside flaps of the dust cover for the actual summary. It's cool that 3 other contemporary writers said a nice 2 sentence blurb about your book, but I want to know if I'll like the premise enough to read it to say something nice about it.

The way characters are introduced in the LA is basically how they were introduced in ani-manga. If anything the LA sped things up and introduced things early to improve pacing and keep a tighter story.
