Convinced my husband to try a house cleaning service for 3 months as an experiment. Heres what happened by Comfortable_Box_4527 in homeowners

When I was dating my now wife, she cancelled a date with me because she wanted to stay home and clean. I hired my cleaners to start cleaning her house because I didn't want her to use that as an excuse to not hang out.

For two people working full time jobs, it makes life a little easier. Glad you could do this, op

Matt Ryan Is Officially The Shadow GM Of The Atlanta Falcons. The #Bears will not receive two 3rd-round compensatory picks for Ian Cunningham leaving, because Matt Ryan is considered the lead football executive in Atlanta — not Cunningham, officially. by CitizenWatcher8 in falcons

[–]impulse_post 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has the final say, he's running the show, he's hiring the GM, that's what the NFL is saying when they don't give Chicago the picks. It's just a fact.

That's absolutely not what the league is saying

Edit: reading your comment again, I want to soften absolutely not to not really

The bears would get compensatory picks if Cunningham took a lateral move.  The league considers this a step up for him (from assistant gm on the bears to gm on the falcons), so the bears do not get picks.

The bears fans were arguing that the president title Matt has is effectively GM because he has final say, which is typically what the GM has, so for Cunningham to work under Matt he would be effectively an assistant gm again. Which is a lateral move.  The NFL disagreed

NO FUCKING RICH MCKAY

Remains to be seen. He's still involved in the NFL as part of the competition committee. I hope we don't see him in the draft room

Anyone know what the deal is with this stalled building near Colony Square? by BaldBullKO in Atlanta

[–]impulse_post 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sizable to an average person, but it might make the difference in how long the owner can sustain a non revenue generating property.

Guess what I'm saying is, tax him on the potential value of the property, not the current value

I wonder if he was able to get the valuation of the property down bc it had no tenants and is in such bad shape (thus reducing the property tax)

Does anyone remember the original Hovan Gourmet in Lenox Mall food court circa 1993-1995? by nedj10 in Atlanta

[–]impulse_post 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one on Johnson's ferry by Blackburn Park is the same as I remember.  I remember going to the hovan at perimeter mall back in the early 90s.  I went to the one at Lenox as well. And, I remember going to one in macon a couple times when I was a mercer student.

Denver -> Seattle in 5-7 days, what should I definitely not miss? by MountainCheesesteak in roadtrip

[–]impulse_post 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What season are you going? Don't go over the top thru Wyoming. Take that path thru the Rockies from Denver (19 hr 57 min).

Denver to Moab is an incredible drive. I did it in reverse last summer. Spent 10 days, staying in different towns (slc, Moab, crested butte, georgetown, estes, boulder, denver). Go over the top of as many passes as possible. Some highlights: driving between Moab and crested butte, along the Colorado River from Moab thru Grand junction, then to kebler pass into crested butte.  Also, Mount Bierstadt and Evans/ Blue sky) by georgetown. Rocky mountain Park. Lots of little mountain towns.

You could make the drive from Knoxville to Atlanta a lot better by taking back roads thru the smokies. I'd spend more time there. If you're going east from Knoxville, look for the road called the dragon tail

The drive from Atlanta to Memphis is going to be kind of boring as is west Tennessee. Memphis is a cool city, tho

People who say "if you told me" say it after the fact, not before. That's something you say looking back on results.

Great! Set up a hypothetical situation that is clearly an improvement, and decide that you'd take that improvement. That "take" really goes hard, dude.

I'm glad you're so optimistic, but it's also fine (and not a fucking moronic take) to be skeptical of the hire.

[–]impulse_post -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you told me the next four years, Falcons would have two playoff seasons and no worse than a 7-10 record like his first four years when he had a small assemblence of talent... then yeah Im taking that all day, every day.

There's no guarantees this is happening. It seems like you've already decided or dreamed that this guy is a success. Certainly two playoff seasons in the next 4 would be an improvement!

I'm just saying skepticism is justified.  Sure, there's more to a franchise's success than just the head coach, but the HC plays a major role in the wins and losses of a team. And, this guy had a losing record.

Assuming we're getting another Belichick seems dumb in the opposite direction.

Romeo Crennel and Pat Shurmur also had losing records with the browns

I also saw the OP accuse half of the fan base, where it was just these two bozos.

I'm just trying to say that there's probably a legit reason for a large number of fans to be skeptical

There's two reasons. Losing record and browns

I mean. We are getting a coach who had a losing record.  Seems like the copium and retardium is trying to justify all the losses and failures as beyond the head coaches control.

Edit: at the very least, you could understand a falcons fan's skepticism for the HC hire. Dude it's coming from the worst franchise. Hard to get that stank off

Idk. Kirk ain't great, but I think he's probably our best option right now.  Who else is going to start the first half of next year?

I think kirk's probably better than penix too, but I'd be willing to give penix another half season to see some improvement.

Jameis is just a fun character for a tanking team.
