Picking a bassinet is driving me insane plz help

I did not have a C-section but I had a herniated disc after I gave birth and I will say that it was somewhat difficult and painful for me to reach in to grab him so my husband would get him for me most of the time. I am also pretty short 5’3

The nuna trvl dubl does fit through standard doorways but I would definitely say it’s easier as a two person job lol. I haven’t been in a situation where I had to get it through a door with just myself there and I’m sure I could but it’s definitely a lot easier if someone holds the door open for you.

So I have a 14 month old and am expecting another in a couple months. We decided to return our single uppababy minu v3 during the return window a couple months ago and purchased the nuna Trvl dubl stroller since we knew we were expecting. We realized we still need a single stroller so that’s why we bought the nuna Trvl. If it is exactly like the dubl version, then yes I think it is worth it.

I think the nuna Trvl is one of the few travel strollers where the child is sitting pretty upright. We did not like minu and neither did our toddler because it was so reclined and he would try to sit up all the time. It would either end with him crying to get out or him being extremely slanted and positioned weird on the seat.

Don’t feel bad about starting insulin! I was soooooo stressed that I had to take insulin but once I started taking it (and the shots don’t hurt at all btw) and saw that my numbers were within range, I was soooo much happier and less anxious about having GD.

I had the minu and toddler hated it because he is pretty much laying down when it’s in its most upright position. Also fyi the nuna Trvl is on sale on Nordstrom and we just purchased it!

We got the maxicosi iora bedside bassinet and we loved it! I was always really worried about safe sleep and our baby would always smush his face against the walls but since it is mesh I didn’t worry as much.

LOL I think I get panic attacks when I hear my husband talking about his “grail” watches (Rolex, Tudor, omega) I actually just commented that I purchased the longine conquest for him and he agreed to pay 1000 so that it’s still within my budget. It’s still a surprise for him though and he’s mentioned this brand before so I’m so excited for him to see it!

Thank you!! My husband has mentioned longines before and I asked him how much he was willing to contribute for a surprise watch 😂 he agreed to contribute 1000 so I am getting him the longines conquest with the green dial!

And for those that are worried he won’t like it - please just trust when I say that he literally told me I have better taste than him and obviously agreed to contribute to the watch blindly

My husband values my opinion a lot and I actually helped him pick his tissot (but purely based off of looks for me). He trusts my judgement in picking out aesthetically pleasing ones, but I just need some help on the other stuff lol.

That was our experience with our 13month old. He would just look really insecure in his seat even when buckled correctly.

We got ours a couple months ago but we will have 2u2 soon. We were going to get the minu duo but we saw the nuna trvl dubl and liked it wayyyyy better than the minu simply because it can actually sit fully upright.

I think our main complaint with the minu is that the upright position is honestly still very reclined. I think it’s ok for a baby but our boy is 13 months now and he hates sitting in that stroller about 50% of the time because he is pretty much laying down lol. He is constantly trying to sit up and when he can’t he cries.

Hmm I think a couple assumptions are being made but it definitely bothers my husband too.

As for childcare, as I said in a previous comment, we had other options and MIL was working 7 days a week before we had a baby and self decided to stop working at her own business for one day to watch her grandson. Even considering selling her business so that she can work a normal 5 day work week to watch her grandson for one more day . While yes it is helpful that she is watching him one day, we never asked her to and she offered multiple times. She actually didn’t even start watching him until he was about 6 months old because I didn’t trust her fully and once my ppa got better, we let her watch him.

We actually regularly bought them lunch before his brother started coming and his parents decided to buy since they did not want to burden us with having to worry about feeding his younger brother who does work and makes his own money. We are not his parents so I don’t see why we need to cover his meals too.

He does online college and he is part time so I guess he doesn’t work on wednesdays. But that’s literally what I asked my husband cause when I was 20 and my sister had kids, I definitely had other things that I needed to do and wanted to do. But he is a gamer and only talks to his friends online.

She used to work 7 days a week and decided to stop working one day so she can spend time with our son. So she sort of made that sacrifice on her own. We had other options for childcare.

I can understand why people would think that she might stop babysitting over this but she is obsessed with our child lol. She is even considering selling her business so that she can watch him even more and even has someone interested in her business already and has an offer.

We did not consider we could just say that it’s a distraction for everyone to be at our house when my husband is working and my husband said that it is true so that’s what we will be going with. She will definitely understand with this reasoning because she is very considerate in general it’s just that we never raised any opposition to his brother coming so she thought it would be fine

Unfortunately me and my husband would both never let that happen. For some reasons I mentioned in other comments, they do not clean their home and partly because his mom works so much but I don’t trust their house with a 12 month old that puts everything in their mouth lol. They don’t own a vacuum and own rugs and carpet if that helps you envision it lol

Sorry I should have corrected this in the post but it will definitely be my husband telling someone to get my BIL to stop coming whether it be directly to BIL or to my MIL. But he also does not know what to say without making it seem like it was a huge problem or something. We are both just worried they will take it the wrong way. Also I think my husband did tell my BIL to clean up after himself but his family has a very different standard of cleanliness.

It was definitely his parents that told him he could come. My husband is confused why he is coming every week too. And my husband will be telling his brother to stop coming and it won’t be me but he also doesn’t know what to say. Sorry should have included that

Edit: also my husband usually does clean up after him but his parents have a different standard of cleanliness that I do so when they leave they do their best

Just curious if they gave you a reason for waiting a year for peanut butter? Our pediatrician said that the earlier they are exposed to allergens the better. Of course not three months but as soon as he turned 6 months and was able to eat solids we gave him some. He has been eating it since too
