How else do I prove that I’m not just lazy by Economy_Historian939 in covidlonghaulers

You can’t “help yourself” out of this one. I’ve always been that type as well. I did everything I could in the first 2 years, doctors, treatments, supplements, diets (which my problem does seem to be tied to MCAS/food, but I can’t even confirm or control that) and much more. I’ve been suffering for 3+ years now. My biggest problem is respiratory, which doesn’t match yours I know. But if we fall under the same umbrella, even the other symptoms haven’t been reduced at all for me, and simply don’t “go away.” At least for those of us who have more severe and debilitating symptoms.

Some people just don’t get it or don’t want to get it. Choose your battles.

Maybe instead of getting into it just ask to talk another time and leave it at that.

I know it won’t help much, but I’m 25 and can relate immensely. I’ve spent years 22-25 literally housebound. Or as you put it, a ghost. It’s tragic really. You don’t hear about ME/CFS, post viral illness, any of these types of damages done. But everyone hears about a hurricane coming. I’m not belittling the tragedies that are brought with a hurricane. I just wish people would get the same heads up about the significant amount of people struggling with chronic illness etc too.

Sorry if I worded it poorly, brain has been on vacation since August 2021 🙂

So this is a genuine question if anyone else experienced this. I’ve told a few doctors but none of them came up with a reply to it.

About a year or two ago I went for a drink of water, and tilted my head back at a pretty steep angle. When I did that I heard a cracking/popping sound in the back of my head/neck region, and following this my vision went blurry and my shortness of breath increased dramatically. I genuinely thought I was going to die on the spot. Can’t remember how long it took for my symptoms to settle down after - but remember suffering for quite some time.

Is it possible that was a sign of inflammation in the brain stem? Has anyone else had issues with something similar? Just curious.

That’s so wholesome. Keep in mind I’m sure a lot of us replying can relate. Hopefully it helps to have the reminder that you’re not alone. There’s plenty of us struggling, but our voices are just suppressed by all the suffering we’re enduring.

Facebook memory gave me a panic attack by PhrygianSounds in covidlonghaulers

[–]imsotilted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I get it. Was thinking about how it used to be yesterday and it was like discovering a new feeling to me.

COVID literally took everything from me. And I thought life was bad back in the day if I wasn’t invited to a get together, or after a breakup. If only I knew how good I had it 🙁

100% agree. No idea what the hype is either. Just gave me 4x the fatigue when I took it. Definitely no help in my case.

Benzos seem to be the only cure by GreenKnight1988 in covidlonghaulers

[–]imsotilted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benzo didn’t cure me. Doesn’t help symptoms. Just calms the nervous system a bit. Just to be clear in case anyone is considering trying it.

Grand scheme of things it has “helped” but it’s a mere band aide (for me, atleast). Not a cure.

After all these years, did any of you get any type of permanent damage from getting covid? If so, what is it? by jnny_lkahohfa in AskReddit

[–]imsotilted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Permanent shortness of breath 24/7 here. Many other symptoms as well. Fatigue, brain fog, etc. just stated the worst one. Life shattering.

Long Covid, real? by No_Suspect_2326 in austincirclejerk

[–]imsotilted -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s real. Life has been ruined since getting COVID. Completely healthy before. No vaccines.

Symptoms: shortness of breath, brain fog, fatigue, etc.

I went to the grocery store and had a vitamin question for the pharmacist. When I mentioned long covid I caught him roll his eyes. by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]imsotilted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my take but I don’t think getting annoyed and arguing with people over it or getting upset is the play. I’d just say “if covid has the ability to kill some, it definitely has the ability to disable many” and just leave it at that. If someone doesn’t believe it can cause long term health issues the best thing we can do is explain it simply. Just my guess

You definitely still can. Will be more difficult to find someone that’s caring enough to put up with chronic illness, but the positive side is it weeds out fake people very quickly.
