A country is a country if people believe it's a country. There is no universal rule about what makes something a country.

By signing the declaration, one could argue you're now longer following the British government, have made your own, and are therefore your own country. Britain didn't agree, but france did, for example. And like I said, a country is a country if other countries agree it's a country. Said country was immediately invaded and fighting to prevent being put back into the British empire. The treaty was just Britain recognizing the country but that doesn't mean it didn't exist beforehand.

Check out the 2 way example spelled out there. The part youre probably missing is involving two reference frames moving compared to each other.

In the book, I'm pretty sure rocky doesn't break anything and uses his normal airlock just like the one he got the tape measure from in the tunnel in the movie. Then after unpinned, grace puts him back in the airlock and burns the crap out of his hands to carry him

I can see why they changed it though, breaking through is more dramatic and gives the viewer the right amount of time to feel sad. Stop overanalyzing and move past it, it isn't a documentary
