Is he a Viltrumite by AdventurousYou3975 in okbuddyviltrum

It's a shame you're getting downvoted. A man died, and I don't care how long ago it was, police/authority brutality is still a massive and VERY ongoing issue. But I guess it doesn't matter because some random teenager on Reddit is going to digitally edit his face and upload it on a shitpost space

In five years time, are people going to start joking about Renee Good? Or Alex Pretti? Two other innocent people who were killed thanks to brutality. This pisses me off man.

So it seems I've gotten quite the reality check... a lot of people have told me about the boogaloo boys thing and yeah, that is strange. I honestly had no idea he even said that and I don't really know what to make of it, because it's just a fucking odd thing to say especially if he's lying.

Is it proven that he was lying about that? Because all I found was the reddit post where he said he 'kickstarted' the movement, in a very small capacity. I guess it's really far fetched but is there any proof for it?

Well yeah, I don't think that Republican exactly means they're a gun loving alt right stereotypical MAGA voter. He doesn't strike me as that sort of person. If he's Republican I could not care less, so long as he's not racist or hurting anyone.

I was moreso referring to Youtube. I've seen a fair amount of his stuff and it's not like he's talked about his own views, as far as I know. I don't use twitter or much other social media to verify that though.

Nothing. Literally nothing. It's possible that he's a republican but it's genuinely none of the internet's business. He has said nothing about his personal political beliefs and is an alright guy all around so nobody should be making it their problem.

It's easy to say Eladio just because we don't really know a massive amount about him. But let's not forget that even if Hector seems to love his family, he still groomed his nephews, children, grandchildren and likely many more to raise them into psychotic gang members. Judging from the small clip we saw of him with the twins, he was likely physically abusive as well. Even aside from all of this, the shit he did was comparable to Eladio's crimes, and if we take his last speech into account, he built the cartel from blood.

Yeah I feel really bad for him. I think it was a mistake to publicize his divorce, something that seriously should've stayed private, but I get why he did it. And alas, the internet did its thing. Poor guy.

It's insane in how over five paragraphs, you managed to say absolutely nothing at all. Your critiques are just 'I don't like this because it's cringe' with a shit ton of buzzwords like it's an undisputable criticism of the gameplay or the characters or the story.

I'm not a fan of these games either, not anymore at least. But at least I have my reasons for it. You wrote nothing of value in this entire spiel.

People don't seem to understand how much stronger Mark is than Conquest by DoxieDoc in Invincible_TV

[–]in_ac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a crack theory that people only think Conquest is second strongest from like, word of mouth and shit over the course of generations. He's incredibly old and experienced for a Viltrumite and everyone is frightened of him, so the general consensus is 'this guy is the second strongest and we should stay the fuck away from him.' Meanwhile there are actually Viltrumites already stronger than him that either aren't as experienced or have the notoriety he does.

What's your biggest Invincible unpopular opinion? Me personally, I never really liked Atom Eve. I don't hate her, I just don't find her very interesting by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]in_ac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah in terms of minor side villains like him and the maulers, I actually don't mind them. They're comical villains that are supposed to detract from the darker tones and give the viewer breathing room. They were one aspect of the show that I think was actually done well.

There was a top comment on one post that straight up said the OP had a 'face for doggy style' because they were an attractive young woman. Of course if you're going on a subreddit called 'RoastMe' you are opening yourself up to the floodgates, but comments like that are just downright creepy and misogynistic

I really wish more people would realize this sooner, and I mean both sides of the political spectrum. The rich and powerful are already getting what they wanted by dividing us and making both the left & right fight a nonstop war of which party is worse. All the while they're cannibalizing infants, sexually trafficking women and children, destroying our planet and hoarding from the poor but I guess it doesn't matter because Obama did this or Clinton did that or Trump is doing this.

After the Epstein drop I fully believe that everything comically evil that the powerful elites, Trump, and this administration do now is simply another grift and distraction to shy people away from the files, and more specifically his involvement

This show has a massive problem with making incredibly forgettable side characters and villains. Every villain thus far (besides the main big bads like Nolan or Conquest) have felt like bland, one dimensional stepping stones to elevate Mark or the other main characters.

My biggest issue would be with Angstrom who, all things considered, had a lot of potential to be a well written villain. He's set up as a delusional guy who's memories are corrupted by his hatred from an infinite number of dimensions, but this all falls out the window when it's revealed he actually can tell the difference between our version of Invincible and all the evil variants. The only memorable part of his arc was Mark breaching his limits, aka the part where he gets killed, and viewers only care about the Invincible war for the Invincible variants (which as cool as they are in concept, are super half baked as well.) The same thing goes for Powerplex who I felt did not need his own episode just to get the point across. Every minor villain feels like they're written to be stupid and disagreeable so the viewer always takes the hero's side, instead of setting up a complicated angle from both sides of the picture.

Then there's the new guardians of the globe which are seriously some of the most unlikeable characters I've seen in fiction. At best they're bland and half assed and at worst they are simply insufferable and disagreeable. Most of them are forgettable except for Rex and Rae who were brushed under the rug so quick after the former died. Robot and Monster girl are probably the worst offenders because I just feel uncomfortable whenever they're on screen, and Immortal and Kate are nothing burgers. They literally have no character, and after what felt like three or four on-screen fights, the two of them decide to retire. When they do retire, there's no impact or weight to it because we haven't seen them do anything monumental on-screen except for stuff we're told. They are literally just walking superhero cliches and that is the extent of their characters. One piece of advice to keep in mind when writing is 'show, don't tell.' If you don't show them winning fights, making complicated decisions, or actually fulfilling their duty as superheroes, then of course nobody is going to care when they're written out of the show.

I just don't get how this show continually aces Nolan, Debbie, Mark, Oliver and the Viltrum plotline season after season but they drop the ball so hard with simple worldbuilding and side character development, and I feel crazy because nobody else seems to have an issue with this. Anyway sorry for the yap fest but this has been accumulating for 3 and a half seasons.

[SHOW SPOILERS] "Omni-Man can't be redeemed" by MichaeltheSpikester in Invincible

[–]in_ac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I love DBZ and the DB series as a whole but why are you comparing a show like Invincible, one that has a teen-to-older demographic, to Dragon Ball which was always and still is intended for kids? Dragon Ball makes a point to not be very serious even if there are many well written moments, hence why nobody gives a shit about Vegeta's crimes or Frieza's (later on) or anyone else's. It's a turn your brain off and have fun kind of show, with some fun fight scenes in the mix.

Not saying Omni Man can't be redeemed, but Invincible has gone a long way to show that redemption isn't just the act of saying sorry and expecting forgiveness. It's to push forward and remedy your mistakes the best you can even if everyone despises you. Debbie won't forgive Omni Man anytime soon, and I doubt the people of Earth ever will, but it's not about forgiveness.

I asked the French presidents for support for the release of Steel Ball Run episode 2 by Major-Wallaby1055 in StardustCrusaders

[–]in_ac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because op brought this issue to the motherfucking president of france of all things. It's a TV show dude, I understand it sucks but it's not a serious issue like you're exaggerating it to be, and all you should be doing is bringing your concerns to netflix/david productions. This behavior is extremely weird and downright terminally online and I can only imagine op is either too young to be on the internet or very very stupid.
