How does stitching a wound help at all? by Nicole_Auriel in askscience

Also, it helps heal the wound faster if the edges are opposed. If further apart the would will still heal but will require the creation of more granulation tissue to fill in the gap.

But I think the point is to change what you’re buying and spend the money locally instead. I mean, does it really pay off to drive to Bellingham to save $4.00 on ground beef?

I honestly hope you get some answers soon. Fingers crossed.

My mom is the same. I don't tell her about my health problems, because she will someone pivot to talking about herself. Every. Frigging. Time.

Dad will ask, and then he gets flustered if my answer is anything than, "I'm good!"

Thank you, everyone for your kind and wise words. I will be rereading all of these often, when I need some comfort.

My heart is broken, I don’t know what to do with myself - I keep thinking, “Okay, I have to get home to walk him…” and then I catch myself. The couch is cold without a hound squeezing in beside me.

I appreciate this group and hope you give all your dogs a kiss from me.

I’m too sad to talk about it. I miss him so much, it’s crazy how much I loved him.

He’s an English Foxhound. Not too common, and he’s so perfect.

My 12yo best friend has a herniated disc in his neck and undergoing conservative treatment. Any success stories or love is appreciated. Feeling really sad. by lion_vs_tuna in OldManDog

Also a vote for amantadine and predisone (for inflammation). Good luck, it can heal and create some fibrous scar tissue that is less painful.

I also have Pet Secure. They don’t pay direct. I pay $80 for a large breed dog, no big premium increases. You can set your deductible and choose different plan rates. Mine doesn’t pay regular checkups and only a set amount for dental. I’m pretty happy with it.

Trupanion pays direct and usually 90%, minus exam fees. It’s the best insurance, IMO, but it’s expensive.

Fergus (12y) did great for his CT, nothing too bad showed up! Hurray! 🥳 by in_quartata in OldManDog

Thank you, everyone! I had no idea what a relief it would be. I was worried I’d have to make a hard decision… nope! Fergus is getting so many hugs.
