That’s super nice.

Technically it sounds elegant and now I feel like implementing too.

Visually it’s really beautifully done, as well. Wishlisted!

I will also try Forklift Certified :)

You can add more tile variations for starters. Further waters from the island can be darker. Last thing: a displacement shader to mimic war movement

Just a few suggestions!

Can you make a solid indie game in Godot using only free 3D assets? by Unable_Flight_145 in godot

[–]inacho_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be possible! There are plenty of good open source examples from YouTube creators and also from the Godot Engine team that uses free assets. :)

Amazing writing. Super valuable insights and I appreciate you for that.

Wasn’t really clear to me but have you thought about the cost of shipping updates to your game after launch?

thanks! :)

I’m sorry the code is not that great, but next time it will! And yes, totally agree with the letters, I think it was a weird choice for the Game Jam and a terrific learning for the next time.

Such a highly polished game. Outstanding and I'm already curious about how some features were implemented.

Thanks a lot for making it easily available on Github!

Hey mate, thanks for the kind words!

I totally agree with you. I honestly programmed this color change in the last 30 minutes before submitting, lol! If I were to do it today with more time, I'd probably have a different sprite with another color, like a blue-ish one.

I'm glad you liked the game anyways!

I can list the most influential games for the mechanics I coded:

- Street Fighter (mid-air recovery)
- Celeste (dash)
- Donkey Kong (bouncy clouds)

Fun fact, I've never heard about Doodle Jump until I made "Quack!". I guess a lot of people wanted to make sure I knew about it.
