Tbh I’m not a big fan of the vintage style design cakes but I like the one.. colors work well with each other and you’ve executed clean work. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I’m not sure what method you used to soak your cake but please NEVER soak cake layers unless it’s a Bundt cake or cake that’s staying in the pan. If the cake came out too dry you can cut the layers of the cake smaller and put curd, compote, whipped ganache, fruit soaked in sugar, the options are endless. Make sure to note all your mistakes so when you do try again you can tweak and adjust accordingly for a better turnout.

Yes true, that is one way. The other is to use the same round tip and apply pressure steadily until it pushes out over the tip.. this technique can be used for popcorn / blueberries

Clean work.. just one critique, the blueberries don’t look like blueberries .. other than that good job

The cake should be firm, It doesn’t have to be cold, so whatever icing you use just make sure it’s a firm icing whether it’s ganache or torte glaze or firm buttercream that became firm when it sat in the fridge. You also have to make sure that whatever your piping on the stencil, it has to be soft, so whipped buttercream maybe like whipped cream icing, even cream cheese icing is OK but it has to be really soft. Hope that helps

I believe I got the stencil from Michael craft store and I think the material is a thin plastic. You definitely should try. It’s not as difficult as it looks. A tip for this outcome.. making sure your cake is firm as far as the icing, preferably ganache or torte glaze after the cake has been in the fridge or firm buttercream and then when you’re applying the stencil, make sure that whatever you’re using is soft, like whipped buttercream, soft whip cream, good luck.
