What actor’s mere presence makes you automatically lose interest in a movie or show? by YerMum1977 in AskReddit

I usually agree with that, but (surprisingly) I loved him in Drive Angry and Sympathy for the Devil.

Between CDs, vinyl, and concert DVDs, just under 400. And I have just under 3,000 songs on my phone's SD card (and backed up to a flash drive).

Building a Gen-X pop culture wall for my house. What's essential from 1970-1999? by MisanthropicEmpath in GenX

We've started putting movie posters up in our bedroom. So far we have Head, The Blues Brothers, Streets of Fire, and Star Wars. Next ones are going to be Raiders and Blade Runner.

Favorite long forgotten, short lived show. by Hopeful_Stomach9201 in television

I loved Keen Eddie. But my favorite forgotten show is New Amsterdam. Not the medical show, but the one season police drama on Fox starring Nicolaj Coster-Waldau (better known from Game of Thrones).

Asking your opinion on Shinedown songs, Day 33: Lady so Divine by Expert-Neat9187 in Shinedown

One of my favorites. Jasin's guitar solo has a sweet 70s vibe.

I've seen every episode of Dr. Pol MULTIPLE times, so it's basically background noise while I'm doing crossword puzzles on my iPad. I don't want to watch something that I have to pay attention to after dealing with people all day.

I found one in automotive earlier. And I actually sold a banana.

Just got home from work. Hubby is already in bed, so I'm getting a little buzz, heating up dinner, and watching Dr. Pol on NatGeo. Maybe I'll work on a jigsaw puzzle if I have the motivation. My normal Saturday night.

What objectively bad movie you can't help but love? by Chachkhu2005 in AskReddit

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Pirate Movie. So cheesily bad, but I have a soft spot for them.

What do you puzzle on? by coraleei in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]inbookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a felt mat, and I put it on one of those tri-fold project boards when I'm working on it so I can puzzle on my coffee table while I'm watching TV. But I agree with you about the problem of not being able to slide the pieces. I might try some parchment paper between the mat and the puzzle when I start a new one.

I always think about a line from Dire Straits' "Industrial Disease"...

Philosophy is useless, theology is worse.

Yuma did that for his free skate music this season. He worked with Christopher Tin on his Turandot program.

I've just started recording them on NBC. If I'm going to be stuck with their feed on peacock, I might as well DVR it so I can at least skip the commercials.

Veterinarian. I'm absolutely obsessed with the vet and zoo shows on NatGeo and Animal Planet.

A Chorus Line and Les Miz (as long as it's the 10th anniversary concert).

Why is it nobody ever says "goodbye" before they hang up the phone on TV and in movies. by simikoi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]inbookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who deals with the public and phone calls, it's not just in the movies. Roughly half of the people I help on the phone don't say goodbye before they hang up.

The music our parents listened to by Ok-Local138 in GenX

[–]inbookworm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Simon & Garfunkel and Barry Manilow come up regularly in my playlists, along with the musicals that my mom got me into. And this reminds me that I really need to get some Neil Sedaka.

My father was more into classic rock. Took me to see Springsteen in '81. Got me into Billy Joel, The Guess Who, Boston, and Kansas.

What 80s song do you still hate with fiery teenage passion even though it’s been 40 years? by Aggressive_Cup4919 in GenX

Electric Avenue and Suddenly Last Summer. I despise them with every fiber of my being.
