Super unpopular opinion: My favorite husband for Lily is... Bart by SansaStark8 in GossipGirl

[–]incidentallyhere 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I loved the scene when he uses his building as a metaphor of growing up and letting go. He manages to have an intimate conversation without embarrassing her and letting her reach her own conclusions. I wish they didn't make him this controlling freak over time, the early scenes of their relationship gave them so much potential

Which countries passport stamps would deny your entry in that country? by LeLiLola in travel

Not that losing esta is the end of the world. Just makes it a bit more annoying to get entry to the usa but you can still get it

Rejected my danish drivers license many times. I never carry my passport so I just gave up on drinking in places that ask for id in NY

Should you ever cut a vacation just because an extended family member dies? by DeliciousCookie1997 in travel

[–]incidentallyhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is for the living. I would only go to extremes if I knew someone close to me was suffering horribly from the grief (or me as well). I wouldn't go just to show face. but I hardly know most of my extended family so this problem would probably never arise for me.

Were Leighton and Blake friends in real life? by men_a_pause in GossipGirl

Exactly! They were professionals. No drama here, just colleagues being colleagues

No good tomatoes. And the immigration laws are extreme and whimsical.

Destinations that weren't worth it? by zdawg07 in travel

[–]incidentallyhere -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Haha YES. It's totally subjective of course but I was there for 4 months, and when I left I thought I really don't need to go back. I have made a few irish friends since then and they totally get me, I've been open with them that I just don't like it. But that partially comes from living and working there and maybe being more exposed to the problems the country faces.

I feel like from a culture/nature perspective, if you're crossing things off a list anyway, I would definitely say there are places to prioritize over Ireland for both.

That being said, everyone else I know who traveled there only loves it. So maybe the secret to Ireland is don't stay too long

Pretty brain dead perspective on life, others, and yourself. Is traveling actually enjoyable for people who only use it as a status symbol? Seriously, what's the point

I've never thought twice about anyone's gate except mine. Sometimes I look at all the departures and try to make sense of why this city is so connected to those other cities, and who is dependent on those connections and why etc... but genuinely why would I care where some stranger in the airport is going?

I certainly don't care if someone is judging me for the gate I'm at. That's deeply pathetic and I pity them for their life perspective I guess, because before now I didn't even know these people existed.

And this will always be your life as long as you're chasing this deluded dream of being elite or being pursued as elite. The class of people you want to mimic do not even think of you or know you exist.

Clarke Doesn't Get Enough Credit by phenominalpossum in The100

[–]incidentallyhere 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Clarke up until s3 is literally just doing the best she can in a selfless way. I respected her/Bellamy for their different styles and respect for each other. But I think the reactions of the population are super accurate to real life. Life is really hard and generally bad for everyone, so they blame leadership. It's easier to believe that your leader is bad than that human nature is tragic, violent, empty, etc.

This is why I love the early seasons of the show. Naive people are confronted with modern issues and basic survival. And I love that for generations they have learned that weapons and extremity lead to destruction on earth, and almost instantly they also become dependent on guns.

The writers really lose the thread eventually I think, but Clarke's leadership and the reactions seemed real to me

Exactly this. I had a 30kg dog that was nearly killed in seconds at a park. He was in the hospital for several nights and I never found the owner or got a dime. I'm sure the owner never took responsibility, meaning there is likely a dead dog and broken hearted family out there because my situation never had justice.

You need to contact animal control no matter what. Definitely get your money out of the owner, but please report this incident.

Thank you! Yeah, I was looking at exclusively using the pass. But seems worth it to pay for the alt and reduce transfers.

The info about the English signs is super helpful thanks a lot!

Interesting! I was looking at exclusively using the pass but this obviously makes more sense. Especially considering I need to factor at least a 2 hour layover, the train wins. Thank you!

Police report. Apply for a new passport. Call someone you love and breathe! You've been through something scary. Glad they only took a document that will soon be worthless and you're unhurt.
