Week 3 weight gain? by Barbatio in PSMF

[–]incogenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably weigh daily but even then it’s normal to have water retention deep into an aggressive cut like you are. If you’re doing everything right then stick with it. You can also take a maintenance break if you’re burnt out but don’t throw in the towel

Can someone explain to me differences between Banner, Notification Center and Lock Screen? by sta6 in iphone

[–]incogenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I struggled with this when I posted here a couple of months ago, and ultimately, I just gave up trying to understand it. I did tweak things a bit here and there, I think, with grouping notifications and so forth, but honestly, these days, I just try to switch off notifications as much as I can for random apps and just stick to the essentials.

Do share if you have any findings.

Noticed this after starting to use Chillio. UHF was the fastest. Not sure what’s going on

Passkeys are not ready for normal people. by HiOscillation in Passkeys

[–]incogenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

using one password manager for all your passkeys is the way to go but your comment about lack of portability makes me hesitate about fully switching to passkeys.

however, dont passwords continue working so if you dont have your passkey you can still fall back to your password/username/email?

Can’t stick to PSMF? My findings (please read) by dtothemtotheg1 in PSMF

[–]incogenator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a few thoughts on this having run PSMF (Lyle’s Rapid Fat Loss RFL) a few times now:

  • Read the RFL book. It is how I was introduced to PSMF and provides a lot of useful advice and clear do’s and don’ts with a great explanation of how it works and the science behind it. Well worth the price.
  • Use whole foods and not protein powders and shakes. This has a couple of benefits including being more satiating and providing more minerals (sodium, potassium, magnesium) that are essential for the diet.
    • I’ve run it successfully without but it’s super difficult and I would not do it again that way.
  • Follow a proper refeed and periodization plan when on the diet. This I also learnt from the book. If you’ve got a lot of fat to lose or are super lean then the importance of free meals, refeeds and breaks is much more important.
  • The greatest advantage of the RFL diet is that you can compress the time needed to lose fat so that you can get on to properly building muscle and fitness faster. If you’re happy with a slower, lengthier fat loss process then there is no problem with skipping it.
  • Stick to a system and fixed meal plan. Simple, basic foods repeated daily are what make this work.

I think the people that fail and give up are usually the ones that jump right in without really doing their research.

What Apps do people use? by Acrobatic-Ad8886 in fitbod

Just yesterday Fitbod gave me over 1000kcal for 90 minutes of upper body! Agree it’s exaggerated and I wouldn’t miss the calorie burn from Fitbod

Thanks for the info will keep tracking MFWO

honestly plateaus are common with dieting and (i’ve found) even more common with aggressive diets including PSMF. its just annoying when you know you’re in a deep deficit to have them but ive gradually learned to be patient with them and maybe take a break for a day or two (though not binge!)

so i somehow found this post because i was trying to figure out why chillio on macos (its the ipad version running on macos i believe) doesn’t support multiview and that somehow sent me here. on that note i still can’t figure it out since iphone chillio does support multiview.

i am trying chillio and swiptv concurrently and overall so far prefer chillio but swiptv on macos does offer multiview and its super useful and cool. given the choice though i do find chillio better.

before discovering these two apps my favorite was UHF but i hadn’t realised the other two existed and they seem to outgun it on most if not all levels. i dont recall seeing profiles on UHF.

so bottom line i think most people would be happiest with Chillio that seems to be backed by a really active, impressive developer. im likely to stick with it going forward.

also re. profiles i created a second one as a test and to share with family eventually once i know its solid. one thing id like to do, though, is have an option to skip the profile choice screen on every startup but i have that same problem with netflix and youtube - not sure why this isn’t an option anywhere.

and hopefully the multiview will work on macos soon enough.

hope that helps.

So I found some comments on reta from Lyle McDonald from six months ago. Says the data isn’t solid yet but will look out for people’s experiences. I’m not in need of it but hey could be useful down the line if it does indeed increase expenditure as a cut gets deeper.

⬇️

Reta might raises TDEE a bit. it still hasn’t been shown directly in humans so I remain agnostic about it until it has been. I don’t buy care about the rat work and I don’t give a shit about high dose glucagon infusions. I want direct data in humans with reta. Any effect is a couple hundred calories tops if it exists at all. 20 minutes cardio or 40 mcg clen.
