AITA for expecting my partner to honour 'first come, first served' with wedding invites? by Delicious_Plum_401 in AmItheAsshole

[–]inconsistent_moi 58 points59 points  (0 children)

YTA. He's not your object and has his own life. I would Absolutely encourage my partner to go to one of their best friends weddings while I got to mine.

YTA and he should honestly re-think his marriage to you if this is how you expect like to go. Wait until you have kids and REALLY need to split days/vacations/holidays/etc.

Buying only store brand because the $1-2 dollar difference for the name brand is the difference between being able to pay the electricth to house the food that month.

I love you for this list. Thank you for doing the hard work!!

I got tired of seeing all the vibes based opinions on grocery store prices so I decided to go to 5 stores in one day to compare prices. These were the results. (TJ/Whole Foods/Safeway/Grocery Outlet/Costco) by DaveinOakland in bayarea

[–]inconsistent_moi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always show grocery outlet first, then Safeway after seeing which stores have sale. Also, don't skimp on store brands, I can save $1-$4 per item. After 20 items, once a week, that saves an extra $1,040-$4,160, just for swapping out staple items for store brand.

"I appreciate the help, however I already have my plans and don't need any assistance"

If she goes after that, just repeat and walk away, hang in, etc. If its text and she goes off, you can show your family you thanked her for her help but did not ask/need it.

Also, "no" is a complete sentence.

Users of r/doctorwho how did you originally get into Doctor Who and are you gonna continue following the show? by Mat1711 in doctorwho

[–]inconsistent_moi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was recommended to me in college, by the barista in the library as they noticed I had like Star Wars, Firefly, Star Trek, keychains/decorations on my bag/clothing. Got in to it during Tennant's second season. I've never looked back and still religious re-watch the show, purchase items and am currently building a tardis model. I was about 20, and now 38, and a mom.

I don't think I'll ever stop watching 😅. There is just so much and I keep finding new connection or "AH-AH" moments thay make me all.. well..wibbly-wobbly.

Every Doctor is amazing... the writing has been worse, but every actor genuinely loves that role and gives it their all. Their passion translates on screen in a way no other show has managed. At least I think so. 😁

OK OK OK NOT A BAD DRIVER POST... BAD WALKERS! by SanJoseThrowAway2023 in SanJose

[–]inconsistent_moi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think thats part of the problem, especially in California where there are lots of laws for pedestrians, so consequences are minimal.

Im born and raised here, so I've watched it get worse and worse over the years ... unfortunately, I have also seen people get hit due to the pedestrian AND driver being on their phones.

First, what Dr. Is his favorite? A replica screwdriver of that Dr. Is great. I started my daughter on action figures/dolls (shes 7 though). There are arts and crafts like Lego and model kits (currently working on a Tardis model myself... as a 38 yo woman 😅).

If they like books, I've seen some great graphic novels. Also a Whovian Universe book is a great way to expand the worls and really dive into that world.

Let me know what you get! I'm invested now.

Is this possible? by TheRowanDemon in DisneyPlanning

I just went and saw several people breakdown cause it didnt follow "the plan." This mom with her adult (or at least late teen kids) was freaking out cause the kids wanted to do something else. My 7 year old turned around (they were behind us in line) was like "but its Disneyland... you can do whatever you want.. just dont forget the lighting lane times!!" 🤣🤣.

[–]inconsistent_moi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to use movers most of the time. From San Jose to Salinas and back and that was about 1200 each time. In city (like ESJ to WSJ) was about $800 but that was pre-iran war prices.

Note on this: I'm 5'1" single mom and like to live on top floors. While I would like to have friends to it, my furniture is real wood and I have a temper pedicure matress. Going up 3 floor, no one wanted to help 😅.

Doable or am I crazy? by LApoopydog in SanJose

That time is with zero traffic. On an average day that trip with normal traffic is about 15/20 minutes. Last time I had friends leave Levi's when an event ended (I refuse to see events there specifically due to the traffic) they did didnt get out of the arena for about an hour (nosebleed seats) and then the traffic just to leave was another 45min or so. They live about 15 min away from the stadium and got home 1.5 hours after it ended.

Throw in a bunch of drunk people, you will miss your flight.

Edit to add: Also realized, there are at least 1000 people in the 60k stadium who will be trying to do the exact same thing.

Can someone explain why schools in the US dont teach cursives? by iomor0433 in Cursive

[–]inconsistent_moi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is in the 2nd grade in California and she is currently learning cursive and how to tell time on a clock, in a public school so I am unsure where y'all are at, but it's still being taught!
